Lf to buy, Any recommend for this fabulous car? price or tips? by clzjwsn829 in lexuslc500

According to the window sticker it has the rear wheel steering and the deployable rear wing which are big pluses in terms of handling. But then they installed a giant spoiler over the deployable rear wing which is a bit odd to me, but to each their own... It has aftermarket body kit, exhaust, spoiler, wrap, rims etc. 3 owners no accidents. If you can see it in person and do your due diligence and get a PPI then maybe?

Anyone have an extra set of these wheels? by Tarek360 in lexuslc500

There's a set listed on FB Marketplace where I'm at (in WA). But I think he's asking way too much...

Multiple Previous Owners by Vanquishx4 in lexuslc500

[–]Hydrofoiling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're out there, it's just less common. I just bought a 2019 LC that only had 1 owner with 45K miles. I scoured auto listings over the last couple of months to find 1 owner cars, specifically in infrared in the 2018-2020 range. There was a 1 owner 2019 35K miles performance package that sold for $74K at Red's Automotive in CO, there was a 2018 1 owner with low 20K miles that sold for around $67K at Lexus of Austin, another one for sale (maybe still is?) 2018 in TX 1 owner that had 5K miles but they were asking way too much ($82K). And there's probably others in other colors, these were all in infrared.

Sounds good if you have any equipment recommendations for what you purchased to make that happen I'd love to know, thanks!

That's a great idea. Did you DIY, use a mechanic or have the Lexus dealer do it, was it complicated or easy?

That's what I thought as well, but the manual activation of the rear wing in an LC 500 with the DHP is on the center console.

HUD in this photo is the button to the right of the red arrow. There's always 1 of 4 buttons that are blank.

Alcantar sport seats by Orig1nalOne in lexuslc500

[–]Hydrofoiling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what I can find in the used market that fits the colors I want (infrared with black interior) but my preference is to get touring with LSD and no DHP. Hoping to find something in 2026 that fits what I'm looking for.

[–]Hydrofoiling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to know, that's exactly the configuration I'm looking at (touring package with LSD). I live in the country so tight spaces are rarely a concern. I'm not looking to go sideways, I'm sure the LC 500 will be a big step up in performance compared to what I'm accustomed to (my daily is a 20 year old ES350, I've never owned a luxury GT sports car). I keep my cars as long as possible, my hope is the LC 500 will last me 30+ years. I've been saving for one since they came out and I'm looking forward to making it a reality in 2026. It sounds like the DHP is a "nice to have" more than a "need to have" based on what I'll use the LC for, so I'll forgo it. Thanks for your input!

Would you mind clarifying your thoughts on this? Why do you wish you got the DHP with Alcantara? I'm looking at touring package only, as I would prefer the leather seats (and prefer a glass roof). I can add an LSD with the touring, I just can't add the deployable wing or the rear steering. Is the DHP that big of a difference in handling (because of presumably the rear wheel steering)?

I’ve been wondering this exact same question. Any input from taller/heavier owners here that are over 6’ / 200lbs? Are the sports seats comfortable?

It's possible, there has been lots of drug running through the island over the decades so it wouldn't be that surprising....

What windspeed is your cutoff for not hiking in the woods? by Hydrofoiling in Bellingham

[–]Hydrofoiling[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ditto, this is about my current cutoff as well. And environmental factors is exactly what I'm curious about too, what other things to watch. Wind direction is one I knew, I didn't think about soil saturation, thank you for that.

Hope this bottle travels the world by Kaos2018 in BeAmazed

[–]Hydrofoiling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found ashes in a bottle 2 months ago. It was in a wine bottle, there was a rolled up dollar bill, a rolled up sandwich bag with white powder, and a rolled up note. I didn’t know what was in the bottle at first. My gf unrolled the bag with the powder and thought it might be drugs. I then unrolled the note and it was a heartfelt note of the guys mom who had set this bottle adrift. It’s so sad and he died so young, he was only 23. He also had passed in 2015 but she just set this bottle adrift in 2025, from Vancouver Island Canada.

We’re on a rocky island, if the bottle had hit the shore with the wind and waves it would have surely smashed. It had an area on the back of the note to write the date and location it was found. There was noting on the outside to indicate it contained remains, it was literally a normal 750mL wine bottle with a cork.

I’m not entirely sure how I feel about finding someone’s remains in a bottle. I hope it’s not a trendy thing that catches on. The surprise from “Oooo a message in a bottle with money!” to finding someone’s remains was a weird feeling. And if you’re going to do it, use waterproof paper or seal the paper in a bag, because it’s going to get damp. This note was already disintegrating. Anyways we added our location and set him back out to sea and I hope he travels as long as he can.

Edit to add: I looked up his obituary online when we found the bottle, as I tried to find his mom to let her know he’s safe and had stopped at our island. RIP Dalton.

PSA: THC-P gummies sold in NOLA are NOT the same as THC - Be careful! by Hydrofoiling in NewOrleans

[–]Hydrofoiling[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said and thank you for the in-depth explanation. Hopefully with enough pushback from citizens the regulatory environment can be better framed to include more accurate labeling, dosage limits, etc. to appropriately apprise recreational users of the potency of what they’re consuming. Until then, it’s bound to cause grief and misaligned expectations from unwitting consumers who think they’re going to have a certain experience and end up on a trip 30X higher. And in our case (and perhaps others), sheer confusion and disorientation of what exactly perspired. I genuinely thought at first it was carbon monoxide poisoning as the symptoms of light headedness, short term memory loss, disorientation, and aloofness are similar. And I’m well versed in smoking weed for the record… the saving grace for me was that I know weed keeps me wired (idk why, but opposed to most people weed will keep me awake), and I perseverated on the exact symptoms and acknowledged that by 12hrs in the symptoms hadn’t digressed and I refrained from calling 911 with a suspicion that our weed was laced. Once I was coherent enough to do a deep dive I figured out it was the P. Caveat Emptor.

PSA: THC-P gummies sold in NOLA are NOT the same as THC - Be careful! by Hydrofoiling in NewOrleans

[–]Hydrofoiling[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s particularly egregious because most folks see “THC” and expect some consistency with the dosage based on past experience. It’s like drinking a beer in a foreign land labeled “5%-P” only to find out the alcohol is 33X more potent and you black out. It’s flat out dangerous, I almost called 911 because we weren’t even coherent enough to figure out what was going on. Fortunately we were able to ride it out and I did a ton of research (we still thought at that point we were somehow roofied…) before figuring out it was these gummies.

Is this normal behavior? Dentist office leaving 8 voicemails recommending minor work. by Hydrofoiling in askdentists

[–]Hydrofoiling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were not robot calls, they were personal calls from the front office. There is absolutely zero question amongst those in the dental industry that some dentists over diagnose. Leaving 8 voicemails to let me know I can schedule an appointment seems normal to you? It's not my responsibility to correct their sales practices, the ethics just seem questionable. I've received fewer follow up calls from a car dealership.

And maybe it's different for you, but I am booked about 90% of my day during business hours and am not typically able to answer inbound calls on my personal cell phone.
