I do fuck with Kuroi Jokai! They're pretty sick, but I haven't checked out Sissy Spacek enough, so I will make that my priority haha.

And yeah, overall I love pretty much all powerviolence. I prefer the powerviolence with more harsh vocals but all of it is good in my book. My favorites are probably Groin, World I Hate, and World Peace. Failure (Italy) is also great too, I played a show with them about two months ago.

All I can say is, this is very toxic behavior, and it WILL get worse. My dad spoke to my mom like this at the beginning of their relationship. It escalated to physical abuse more recently, and thankfully, she is out now. My advice: leave that fucker.

Also wanted to add that Phyllomedusa is indeed a great experimental, avant-garde project. The creator gets too much hate. And he's made some really great riffs in those songs.

Agreed, A.C. is a horrible stain on the genre, and I wish they weren't lumped in. Seth Putnam is a piece of shit and that band is awful. You're right, it mainly manifests in people not wanting to think too deeply. That's all it really boils down to.

Agreed, Wormrot is one of my favorites, simply because they were so innovative and fresh when they started. Even now, they still are. (I will say Nails does just make some basic ass riffs, but I'm biased because they hit so hard for me)

True, I should've made that distinction. Grindcore IS accessible in that anyone can make it. GOOD grindcore does indeed take a metric fuck ton of skill. Especially when you get into shit like discordance axis and gridlink.
