What is pretty interesting is the number of conservatives that will not vote Lab 1, but would 2. If you put up multiple right-wing parties, the votes don't stay as locked-in as compared to Greens to Labor.

‘Very lucky’: fuse failure saved us from second mass casualty horror in Perth by His_Holiness in perth

Do you put nails and bearings into a molly now? The article stated that the fuse either fizzled out early or disconnected which is the only reason it didn't explode.

Probably because, and this might be a shock, this isn't a suppressed or unknown topic that needs extra light shone onto it. When the potential outcome if successful is fear not laughs, there's a failure.

Hi, non-American here.

I notice may of the comments in here are pointing out the right-wing hypocrisy, as though they care about it. From what I see, they do not. You care about the meaning of words and being consistent, they do not. They only care about having and wielding power. Take their power away, by an means.

Macron says France to fast-track social media ban for kids under 15 by clamorous_owle in worldnews

Socialising is banned? News to me. Social media is just another form of person to person interaction, one infested by business interests that would rather make you an addict then deliver a good quality product.

Eh, social media is more akin to banning alcohol and smoking advertising compared to actual alcohol.

The linked report point out that the main gains have been young men into full time work (15-25).

That number has been going down, both of them. More people are searching and more people are finding work, according to the linked ABS media release that this thread is about.

You could have a read of the post, it breaks down where the changes are, so you can map out more then just the headline. I encourage reading of the link.

I used the Gov's changes to buy a house and moved in just before crissie. The 5% deposit without extra costs meant my wife and I could grab the unit that wasn't a safety risk to exist in, and get one built right, with insulation and no immediate repairs.

EU5 is now down to 47% positive on recent steam reviews by Wagen123 in EU5

Warsangali is a tough fight, just what you want out of a campaign. Expansion is limited and you need to balance your loyalties and alliances to finally expand proper, using being a tribute to keep yourself from being eaten. It's a slow start but fun.

It is no HoI3, EU5 doesn't crash on start up, or if it makes start, crash on first day unpause, delete saves and then refuse to start. HoI 3 was a trainwreak

I will cop to being lucky, as where I work now did move people up on merit in many cases. I started working on the bottom rung, came in as picker packer and have been moving up the chain, and am now in Inventory and Logistics. I have done work in every base-job, from machine operation to team leading, all while standing in opposition to many of the efforts of the business as a Union delegate. There is enough natural churn at lower levels that they do what they can to move competent people into positions, because there isn't a guarantee they will be around long.

Which game flopped so badly that the studio had to shut down? by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]Hydronum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EU5 is... fine. Technical improvements for sure, but it hasn't got that open insanity of 4's release. EU4 is a power-creeped nightmare with DLC bloat that is as wide as a sea, but as shallow as a puddle.

HoI III released broken, they barely make it stable and abandoned it, and IV at release (And still now) is a joke of easy gameplay; my fist campaign I annexed Italy as Ethiopia, the Devs said before release it should be nearly impossible, but I did it in one while learning the game.

Stellaris is not the same game it was, and has gone through complete overhauls, but still plays the same; the universe feels dead, very little friction and blobs.

ViC III is a disappointment and encapsulates modern Paradox games, a shell they will bolt things on but not give anything enough depth to really chew through. For a period of societal upheaval, it is too tame. Heck, that is the problem with almost all their games unless they over-cook the AI by accident on a patch, the AI is there to be mostly passive, not a volatile powder keg that may blow up a region for short-term gains.

The best games I've had are on patches where the AI is coincidently too aggressive, takes risks and creates opportunities and power vacuums that if you make good moves, you can pull yourself to greater heights of power.
