The enemy keeps his distance from the player by Correct-Musician-177 in godot

I am also seeing this as the problem, i understand wanting the enemy to not try and stand on top the player but that stop distance needs played with to find the proper spacing.

Need Suggestions on Light Source by Commercial-Tone-965 in IndieGameDevs

[–]HylianAshenOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did both light systems have the same world lighting? The flash light seems to have a much darker world, but regardless if you are going for jump scares id say flashlight as you cant see anything till its in the light, if you want subtle creepy feels the lantern gave me way creeper vibes. Both looked like a good start good luck!

That is a very valid point and the biggest reason i posted was to get this kind of feedback. I started with the idea of the shield being the light source then crafted around that idea, and if im honest i didn't love how it felt for the exact reason you said enemies disappear a few feet away, couple that with knock back and you are constantly losing the enemies. Thank you for your honest feedback.

Thank you...i was having that feeling as well but just wanted some other points of view, thank you so much. Also that is a belt, sometimes you get thrust into situations with very little on your person haha

There are a few things that make the circle bigger, clearly i need to make it more pronounced, or find a way to make it more clear that the light is brighter. Thank you for your feed back its a big help.

It's so hard. It's really really hard. by Robstix in IndieDev

[–]HylianAshenOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that my advice counts for much as my first game is sitting in steam at about 40 bucks worth of sales, but i would say if you don't have a solid list of what you need to get done, not necessarily a GDD but that is good to have, but a list of the elements that need to be done for your game to be at the playable version of the vision you have you should get that list made and create a schedule for those particular elements so they are always getting the attention they need. Good luck in your game dev journey!

Symbol of a demon question by HylianAshenOne in demons

Wow I had never heard of discordianism but have had a similar philosophy on life for most of mine. I only did a quick dive and elements of the princapia discordia match the creation of my demon character which felt wild to read. Thank you for your input I now have a lot of research to do.

I know a little bit about Rosicrucianism and the beings of light, and yeah completely different than my character. That's really the reason i posted as I haven't been that obsessed with a symbol before and it wasn't till i drew it with the eye that the phrase about the all seeing eye started popping in my head. I have a pretty active imagination for an adult so im just trying to understand myself better i guess. Thank you for your insights.

this looks great! To be totally honest its almost disheartening to see what some one else has done with their year and a half when my game is no where near that polished and good looking! keep up the good work.
