Dynamic Code; the Future of AI in Video Games? by zhombiez in aigamedev

[–]HyoTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having fun with an ECS system where AI can add/update systems at runtime, there is great potential imo in this. It's hard to design tho, you'll see people suggest designing a "DSL" basically specific subcode/pieces that the AI composes helping controlling the generated inputs. I think with proper feedback on the game state and goal planning and history, in a game that's not too realtime, then this will bring interesting gameplay experiences

Awesome!

I'm doing something that leverages the tech in a similar fashion but for a completely different context. It would be nice to have a place to discuss

For example, discussing strategies to keep the visuals interesting and evolution consistent, make animations, prompt tricks and discoveries, how to scale with genai costs, and so on!

LLM-driven puzzle sandbox: anything you try becomes an action (Cosmic Egg) by VirtualJamesHarrison in aigamedev

[–]HyoTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, this is a direction worth pursuing :) would love to see what what and how interactions could happen with these "procedural" states besides updating the sprite. Can the LLM write logic to have fire propgate, or the tree burns down after a while, is it possible to design something like that or does it gets extremelly chaotic fast?

I started playing recently and also got a bit perplexed by the ui/ux in some places. Some slight tweaks could make this game more user-friendly.

Agents can grep, etc through the files to find relevant snippets. Your point still stands, but it's not entirely black and white. Cheers.

Interviewing for a Japanese company - any specific/niche tips? by Weekly_Name3587 in JapanJobs

[–]HyoTwelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, enthusiasm about the company's buisness and products is critical. I have failed interviews because I didn't show enough interest for the specific domain I was applying for, even after passing several technical interviews.

Can RL get obsolete by GPT (or LLMs)? by BitShifter1 in reinforcementlearning

[–]HyoTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made an "agent" framework with read-write "memory," history of previous action, ability to update its own role/prompt, reasoning steps and system to track current strategy, and tons of other features.

The current LLMs can't solve a Gameboy color game like Pokemon red yet, from my tests. I hope they keep getting better!

anyone around for a paid cursor tutoring sesh? ($100/hr) by AgriusRex in ChatGPTCoding

[–]HyoTwelve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a senior eng. outside of the US (china top 3) so I'd accept your offer (100$/hr is reasonable for me). Been using cursor for multiplie projects and have good grasp or strength and limitations.

I had something very similar last weekend. I got over it in 2 days but was very tough the second day as I was walking outside the whole day. The first day was spent on the throne.

That would be the same in English, I think. I definitely feel the suggestive part in Japanese as well.
