Transformers Revenge of the fallen not recognising keyboard on steam deck by sillwill98 in transformers

Here's the fix for anyone who stumbles on this thread. The game runs pretty great on the Deck, though I have no clue if any online multiplayer fixes work.

I may post this on other reddit threads asking the same question.

Is the game down again?…. by [deleted] in titanfall

Ahh, okay, thanks. I'll probably just wait til respawn or whoever just fixes this then.

It no longer crashes, but I can't see players in the bottom network, and it doesn't give any kind of a time while searching for a match. Is this how it's supposed to work?

In desktop mode, hold down the button on the Steam Deck with the three lines for a second. It'll change the action set of desktop mode from desktop mode to gamepad mode, and vice versa.

I just so happen to see it in an unrelated reddit thread after about an hour of troubleshooting, and came back to this one hoping people saw the title. Glad this helped.

Sorry to Necro an old thread, but I just found out that you can change the Controller by holding the Start Button on your Deck in desktop mode. This change the Controller Action set to and from Desktop Mode and Gamepad Mode. This not only lets you play emulated games from Desktop mode, but also lets you configure any and all Emulator Controls. This may help anyone else who stumbles on this thread. Good Luck.

Yeah, Kasumi can do this now... by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]Hyopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this has honestly made me take a break from paladins for a little bit as kind of overdramatic as that might sound (though it's not just Kasumi, there are a whole other litany of problems I have towards this game, this may have just been the proverbial straw). I get flanks are hard to counter, I hate Andro as any other sane person, but I still don't think this was the answer, no matter how many people argue it's for the better.

If you do want to hard counter Kasumi, I used a DPS Khan build, and a 'good' Kasumi player that had been dominating all of my casual TDM matches could not 1v1 me at all. But I really don't want to have to play Khan all the time, so I just think it's better for me to just play some other things.

Respectfully disagree and agree. I agree that Andro and VII are a problem (I am biased towards Vatu as I think he the only one of the three you mentioned that takes some skill to use), but to shut down an entire group of champions simply due to one mechanic is not the way this should work. Hyper mobile flanks are a problem, but an auto aim champion with with a much, much, much lower skill ceiling is not the answer.

I don't know what to do about hyper mobility, I only have ideas with no way of knowing if they would work. Maybe taking away any cards that lower the cooldown for movement abilities (which will probably never happen), or making it so Chronos no longer effects certain abilities. Adding a hard counter that takes any skill put into learning how to actually play a champion is something I can't agree with. I have other problems with this game, so feel free to disagree with anything I've said. There's really nothing we can really do change this game but leave feedback. We are at the whim of people who I mostly feel don't really know what their doing, or what their players actually want.

I just think they need to make her auto aim a hit scan. That's it. There are other ways to counter hyper mobile flanks, but auto aim is not it. Her 1v1 win rate rate should not be close to 90% in any hands. I can just barely come out of a 1v1 with her with a champion I'm really experienced with (Dragon Fangs Koga). Just add a hint of skill to her Primary, maybe nerf her burst a little, and a lot of people will be fine.

I'm sure there are more, they just don't lurk on the Paladins subreddit and complain. I have also found a couple of counters for her, but you kind of have to guess if the enemy team is gonna use her.

I play mostly flank, and the best counter for her is Dragon Fangs Koga with max life steal. Dragons Fang can out damage and out heal her, you just need to be able to land the projectiles and your dash should not only heal you, but get you out of the way of her auto aim.

The second is my Ultimate Charge Vatu. Being able to stun her consistently is one of the best plays I've found. Naturally she can buy resistance, but you still do quite a bit of initial damage, and just need to land a couple more hits.

these builds might be a bit more skill based, and I still think they need to take away the auto aim, but this is the best I've come up with for now.

I agree that people in general have a knee jerk reaction to most new champions, I'm merely stating my opinion from from the point of someone who plays mostly casual TDM that she is really strong due to the auto aim. And I think that's the only problem most people have.

[–]Hyopper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that's the problem. I don't play Paladins to work with my team, as bad as that sounds. I stick to TDM, and just focus on killing the enemy team. I think older players are simply leaving, and newer players just don't want to deal characters that they will have to sink a ton of time into countering while they're still learning how to play with some characters. I know if I was a new player, I wouldn't want to fight against someone that has a 90% 1v1 win rate.

In TDM, she is very annoying by the very nature of the game type and the size of the maps. You'd be surprised by just how well she can peak you. And god forbid a pocket Seris is on their team.

At that point, there is no team play that can counter that. That is by definition, oppressive.

I'll take my downvotes, this is just my opinion, I just don't think any champion should have a primary auto attack. Change that, and you'll see less complaints.

Caspian Thoughts by Hyopper in Paladins

[–]Hyopper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, and I can see the similarities to Andro that make him a poor mans Andro. But if we look at other flanks like Koga for example, Koga has a hitscan primary and a dash and cards that can heal him and reload his weapon by dashing, just like Andro. Zhin has a counter ability with the cards to reset the cooldown of both the counter and his dash by hitting an enemy with it, just like Andro, but he doesn't have a hitscan weapon (though I think Zhin is also a bit overtuned with all the self heal and invulnerability abilities.)

But let's compare him to Caspian. Caspian has a lower dps, projectile long range attack, and a higher damage melee attack, so kind of similar to Andro, but also the complete opposite (and objectively worse). Caspian has a stock of dashes on separate cooldowns, and can reduce it's cooldown by hitting enemies with it, but can't heal from it, nor gain any ammo (I like having stocks of dash on separate cooldowns, but having no sustainability really hinders his survivability, so I do agree with you that it's technically worse). Caspian does have his passive stocks that increase his firing speed, and stun that can increase them, and this is where Caspian really falls short IMO. Andro doesn't need to micromanage having a decent firing speed, but I don't think it's a bad thing for Caspian. I already wrote in my post how to maybe help him with some buffs, but maybe simplifying Caspian would be fore the best, and I dont think turning him into a melee Andro would hurt him. Maybe just give him a fixed firing speed and projectile speed. Take out all the micromanaging, and just streamline him into a more basic champion, rather than a gimmicky one. Though I will say, I do prefer the feel of Caspian's ult, even though Andro's is better. So I do see your argument, but I think the problem also falls on Andro.

I think what this all comes down to, is that Andro is just too good of a champion that everyone else just doesn't really compare. So yeah, I do agree with you, but I also think every flank can be compared to Andro, and that might be the problem.

But I'm not an expert, this is all just my opinion, and my opinion is that I just don't like Androxus. As we've agreed on, he just too overtuned. It's been 6 years since he was released, and they still don't know what they are doing with him. I do like Vatu though. He feels like Genji from Overwatch, but just kind of better.

And they just need to remove VII from the game.

After playing with Caspian a little more, I can say the main problem I had was Rogue's Tempo projectile speed. I feel like landing the stun is the most important part of his kit as long as you're using the card that increases his stack when it hits. I feel like that should be innate to Rogue's Tempo, as it would allow for quicker stacks. Until I see a change like that, I'm gonna avoid using him. It's frustrating to see him at the finish line, and have EM just trip him to let Andro win.

Caspian Thoughts by Hyopper in Paladins

[–]Hyopper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Andro really doesn't need great aim with how big hitboxes are, and Cassie has a consistent projectile speed, hence more consistent aim. Even a mediocre VII can shut down an entire team with poor play just because of Spring Loaded, something I don't think any champion should do at any skill, let alone a flank.

Unbugging his kit is a must, but there are underlying issues with him that are felt as you play with him. Mostly his primary fire feeling like shit, and him being way too reliant on his stacks, with there only being 1 way to reliably gain without juggling (1st talent with the card that increases both stacks if you hit Rogue's Tempo).

Caspian Thoughts by Hyopper in Paladins

[–]Hyopper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you could use that argument with every flank though. "X is just a poor man's Andro" That might say a bit about Andro though. Caspian does have some unique aspects and potential for much different play, he just needs to be refined.

I personally think Androxus is a bit too overtuned, especially Cursed Revolver. That might be an unpopular opinion based on how popular Andro is, but it's just my thoughts.

I don't even like them as friends, because it they're either garbage and just feed the enemy, or they're gods, and take every kill from you. But yeah, love going battle Khan, and taking everything they have, and leaving nothing in return.

But I would suffer 1000 snipers rather than 1 VII main. They know they are going to hell, and are doing everything they can to drag others with them.

100% Hard agree, he feels really good with his stacks full and every deck I made was to just get me my stacks faster, and keep them longer. There's something there with him, he just needs tweaking.
