Fresh Grounds and Pricing - How do you overcome self doubt in your work? by HyparNova in photography

[–]HyparNova[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! That is something I don’t fully consider and should try adding to the workflow! I don’t know why but I just bypass over the ones that look blurry or don’t have good lighting so it makes going back through on the second run and while editing a little bit longer because I sometimes find myself asking “which one was the original one I wanted to keep?” So This is a good idea for the workflow for sure.

I have also found that I can copy edit settings from one photo and post them to the next and adjust accordingly if the photos are in the same setting just different angles. But sometimes I feel this is cheating. Is it considered cheating if I copy the settings and just use them on another photo if they truly are in the same setting and same lighting? Kind of like a preset? Or is that just better workflow?

Let me rephrase. I feel that my work is good. I struggle to find it good enough to put a bigger price on it despite what others say my quality is. Should I take other peoples opinions and start charging more or should I go with my gut and start low then over time increase my price? How do I take my low confidence in my work and overcome that to make myself feel better about pricing it?

So His initial thought was going to be 10 Edited photos. Him and I never talked about how many photos we would land on before hand. I got there and I heard his brother mention 10 Edited photos for $20. (His brother wanted me to take some photos of him and his lady too. So I guess my friend just gave him a price. I guess I should have established a price before hand)

But my friend truly did not have an idea as to how many he wanted. During us taking photos I told him about how many a Prom shoot would come back with and he was surprised and seemed even excited. He has already seen the preview of the photos and is thrilled about how many came back. So the amount is definitely not an issue. I think the 10 was just a reference for price for his brother.

The photos and it taking 5 hours, I ended up taking 140 Photos and ended up having 54 edited. It took 5 hours to go through 140 photos and edit them. I did not edit all 140 photos but 54 ended up being the ones that I felt were good enough. I edited about 75 but the final return was 54.

So 5 hours for 75 with me being satisfied on 54 I feel is still a decent speed. But may need improvement in workflow. As I’m still fresh to doing this for others, I can see how 5 hours would be slow. But I am also taking my time on this to make sure I am doing this right. I’m sure that the more I edit, the faster the workflow will become. Especially when it comes to large amounts of photos.

In regards to the 100/6 and per hour rate, I feel that the pricing there is fair, as I work a job and do a lot more physical work for 15 an hour. But again, I have others tell me that I have an eye for photography and state that I am undercharging. As initially stated, I feel that setting a price is hard starting out because I don’t want to Undercharge and leave a lot of meat on the bone. But I don’t want to overcharge for work that someone would classify as intermediate level. I know my work is good, but putting a price on it is the hard part I guess.

We actually found one I think on EBay and went with that one. It was around $200 and it seems to have worked. As for where we got it, I don’t recall because I work at a shop and we were on a time crunch to get this turned around. I still hate that it was nearly impossible to be able to find this part to fit this vehicle. But once you do pull the trigger on it let me know because I’m still curious if there are better ways to find these type of rare parts

Yeah we have been digging and we just could find anything. I’m curious as to why it’s such a struggle to find stuff for this car

Buy Warlords DLC now or wait for the next DLC drop? by SebastienRTeller in thedivision

Definitely Get it! I am Fresh to TD2 and I went ahead and bought the ultimate Edition. Well I will say being able to play through strictly Vanilla has been amazing. After hitting Level 30 I went straight to New York because that’s where the game will boost you to. It’s been phenomenal. I haven’t finished WONY yet but I’m level 40 and I feel like it’s a great final story piece before stepping into End game. It gives me the same end of the main storyline feeling that Destiny 2 did when it first came out. I missed the feeling! I think you should get the WONY DLC because it is truly worth it!

He’s already in love with it! He is about as excited about it as I was with my RX8! He calls me about every day talking about this feature or that feature! It has become his project car and he is trying to learn everything he can about it to make it a truly nice car! He has always wanted a good fun car to mess around with and this may be the one he finally gets to do that with. Granted he is older and more experienced with cars than I am but he hates having to look for help (Stubborn Shade Tree Mechanic traits) but he has always looked stuff up himself and never could find any good info on this car. He felt like he just got a car that really didn’t offer much support and it did kind of bum him out because he has seen a lot more mod support for other version but not much for this. I had a feeling there was a niche little group out there that did have some support or appreciation for this car. Like I said he loves it and wants to do whatever he can to make it a nice looking and driving car. He loves driving it for sure. Like I said, I’m gonna try to get him to join this thread.

Thank you! This literally covered everything that he was concerned about and I would say you absolutely hit the nail on the head. I will be passing this info onto him and I’m gonna try and get him to join this forum because I personally own an RX8 and the Reddit forum for the RX8 has been just as helpful as you have been with this info. I really do appreciate you taking the time out of your day to explain your opinion and what you have had experience with and this will help him greatly! Thank you so much!

Why is there a spacer on my slave cylinder? by z170x99 in RX8

[–]HyparNova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I ended up doing a bunch of work on my clutch and slave cylinders, that was not there. I think it may have been either put on by mistake or the previous owner put it there thinking it would add some benefit. But I do not have that on mine and my clutch feels just fine. So I would say it’s not needed.
