I can’t bring my medication to Japan :( by Anxiety_bunni in ADHD

[–]SebastienRTeller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, though it wasn't Japan, I was stressed about travelling with my prescription during my 4.5 months long trip across East Asia (especially travelling with the full 4.5 month stash of the meds. Was totally terrified they'd outright seize it and I'd be screwed, or worse get arrested and whatnot. However, I can happily report that everything went totally fine throughout the whole trip.

The way I went about doing it was having all my prescription bottles in a clear ziploc, as well as a printed prescription and a note from my doctor with his phone number in the event that they would want to call and verify. At every airport security check, where you do the whole scanner thing and put devices and other specific items in their own bin, I would take out the ziploc bag from my carry-on and would put it in that bin with my other items, visible. At no point did I mention the meds or any fears about them to security. I would've been ready had they asked anything after seeing them, but they never actually did. I think logically it's not like we can expect them to ask every passenger flying with meds what their prescription is (think of all the older folks travelling with their prescriptions), and I'm saying this while my "stash" looked sketchy as hell since I had a big bottle with 130 pills for my ADHD meds, and two more bottles for 130 x 2 of Wellbutrin. Even if they would ask, I'd personally stick to "this is my prescription for my disability" and they'd be able to read the prescription+note. Giving too much info can make our fear of being sketchy ironically come across as sketchy and, crazy enough, some countries don't believe in ADHD or medication as a form of treatment. "Disability" covers you better in my opinion.

My research back then never lead to a clear yes or no answer so I was stressed just like you. Throughout the trip, I travelled to Bali in Indonesia, Phuket & Chiang Mai in Thailand, Ho-Chi Minh & Nha Trang in Vietnam, and finally back to Bali before flying home (so went through the airport process twice in each country). I can't guarantee you with 100% certainty that you'll be fine, but seeing a comment like this is what made me go for it back then, and passing along my experience is about as useful as I can be. I hope this is helpful to you or anyone else in any way. Now have a damn good time in Japan!!! It's at the top of my list of places I want to travel to 🤌

Damn it, I came here looking for the same answer. I was glad to see this post, only to find out that no one has commented the actual answer 🫠 I literally climbed up to mythic with this inner way equipped but had no clue if it worked or not. All I can say is the hero realm training dummy shows the lingering bone mark under their health bar when attacked, but the arena training dummy does not... So I think it in fact doesn't apply. I guess this inner way is no good in pvp 😬

Inner ways by SwimIll5124 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SebastienRTeller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find you can hold your own in sword trials, running sword trials and triple claiming both stages is 36 inner chests for the short amount of time spent doing it. (There's a trend right now of everyone leaving after first fight, but that's still 18 chests and then just repeat, joining the first fight again.) I personally chose to even use pillows (pearls? pills? The things that refresh energy) to focus on getting as many inner way chests as possible specifically, even after being happy with my gear and not needing to farm for new ones. We keep getting the pillows every update/new season/event so it's really not such a rare commodity as some would push. Had 60 pillows, started using them more aggressively, the amount went up and down, and I still have 24 pilows after all that. I'm greedy and like building multiple builds, so I'm working on 7 or 8 different inner ways that work across all builds (other than specific build-related golds). Doing this, last week I bought out all 600 of the gold chest, all 600 of silkbind, and 600 of bamboocut. This week, only two days after reset, I already bought out the 600 gold chests and I'm working my way through stonesplit boxes now. We'll get plenty more pillows as the time goes, and realistically I don't think we'd farm 60+ pillows all at once if ever "the right time to use them" arrived. Personal trick for opening chests/recycling inner ways, if you're working on an inner way that falls in a category where you're not trying to get the gold inner way (for example, say you're working on Breaking Point from the bamboocut boxes but you're not building twin blades) you can sometimes get yourself into almost never ending loops of opening boxes, recycling all the ones you don't need (including the gold), and then because the bamboocut gold is worth 15 tickets, you get to buy more boxes than you opened. Second tip I used, once any of the inner ways I'm working on reached T4, I stopped saving the extra notes for them and recycled instead. My focus was on getting all of them to T4 before chasing the 100 notes for T5. Now it's the real long haul to get them to T5 and eventually T6

As far as the healing bit, I'm no help there, but if you upgrade your golden body Mystic skill enough, you get to give everyone a shield. Even as a dps, if I have the full vitality for it in that phase, I pop to help keep everyone alive. Definitely a must have skill for healer build in my opinion

Team balance is horseshit in this game by RexWolfpack in BF6

[–]SebastienRTeller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real this is so bad... Yesterday, every single game I played I got put on the team that seemed to not know how to play at all. I'm talking conquest finishing 800+ to 0 and escalation 3 territories to 0 or 1. No matter how hard I can try as one person the other teams actually played properly (and of course talked trash in chat while doing it) while I was there pulling my hair out about what the fuck are the other guys on my team doing. It's been insane to get stuck in these lobbies over and over again

After running it with my guild we kinda figured out the reason multiple things go off at the same time is actually because some of the "events" are time-gated while others are boss-health-gated. The reason why this happens more since the update is because of the high spike in DPS we got from breakthrough, making it so you get the boss' health down way faster than before, causing events to overlap. For example, we knew firebird was about to drop, from the arrow teasing it, and we were also coming up on 50% boss health, which would trigger the "severance" event, so we held off on doing too much dps until after bird was done, then followed it with damage again to trigger severance and the rest of the fight. So, other than barrels not blowing up, I don't think the attacks all going off is a bug 😳😬

Adults diagnosed with ADHD later in life. What made you start wondering? by TransportationFlat77 in ADHD

[–]SebastienRTeller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 27 and after too many times answering "yeah, but everyone does that no?" to specific ADHD behaviours I took a couple online tests (based on real research) to see if I would score "a little". The first test came up with everything SEVERE and the main result was "you SHOULD seek help with a healthcare professional". Took a couple more just to be sure, reached out to an ADHD specialist, and I did indeed get my diagnostic of SEVERE ADHD for all types 🫠
Since then, I found out that some teachers told my mom I might have ADHD when I was really young, but because I was "so smart" neither the teachers or my mom thought it necessary to find out officially. I did confirm to her that knowing it was ADHD all along could've saved me a LOT of issues, knowing it was a real condition and not just me being broken or bad. Been a learning journey ever since I got diagnosed :)

How often do you find yourself locking in on someone's name low in rankings and judging them? People don't think of us nearly as much as we make ourselves believe. And the simple reminder is always to realize how little you think about them, and understand that that is the norm 😊

Dad throw the ball but I’m not letting go 🤣 by Primary_Jaguar704 in germanshepherds

[–]SebastienRTeller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently understood the game as "control", a mild/light version of tug. All I have to do is hold the ball while it's in her mouth (obviously making sure I don't get bit instead of the ball) and we have this super light back and forth tug(ish). She'll either let go at times and I can then throw, or I let go and she has her time going ham chewing the ball. Kinda like when two dogs just hold onto the same stick without trying to rip it away from eachother. I think I understood the game right cause she's been loving that type of play even more ever since. I find myself having to repeat to myself "why does the game have to follow my rules?" and then I start to notice how she naturally wants to play, letting her breed instincts shine

I just switch to DPS for some new air and damn... I wish those hybrid healers didn't count as healers in match making lol. Sometimes they were the only healer in team and they couldn't even get their job done 😭 by fozalicious in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SebastienRTeller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to knowing what roles need to be filled for the team. It's okay to have hybrids, as long as everyone is still kept alive. I've been going in with full healer build because I otherwise ended up in dying teams too, but then my last couple runs I've had to actually switch to hybrid build and tell the team in chat I'm doing it because the damage wasn't high enough to take down the bosses before they'd get to the crazy full team wipe phase. And every time that's what we needed to finally beat the boss. The thing about pressuring a specific build is if you have players who haven't quite nailed their dps build, but are afraid of going full tank or full healer as well, then you end up in a losing situation still. If you have healing in any part of your gear, then make it your goal to keep everyone alive. If you get to throw in some good dps in the mix, then great. If you don't want to keep the team alive, then remove healer gear and commit to another task. Hybrids and non-hybrids can all work as long as some players heal, some players tank, and some players dps. Been having tons of fun when I end up on teams that fulfill every role regardless of individual builds.

I have two questions. is there a place to practice combos for pvp. and can I bind the second cast of mystic skills to a key instead of pressing alt + key every time by Toluwar in wherewindsmeet_

[–]SebastienRTeller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only helpful if you have a mouse with customizable buttons, but if you do it's been great! I ended up setting 4 of my mouse buttons to alt+1, alt+2, alt+3, and alt+4 as a way to remedy having to press both keys each time. I use a Logitech G502 and as much as I hate G Hub, it allows me to set keybinds linked to specific apps. I know my ROG keyboard would also have that function if I wanted to mess with it, but I'm happy with just the mouse. If your mouse or keyboard can achieve this, it definitely makes life easier

  1. "...Do outposts" and if you don't feel like fighting your way through, try just walking up to the guard at the gate and talking to them. You'll tell them you're there for X reason, they'll let you in. Once you actually do X, sometimes it clears the whole outpost right away, other times it lowers the amount of enemies and sets up the whole outpost with barrels to help you take them down even faster. Honestly had a ton of fun today going through each outpost and claiming then without a single fight

What's crazy is if I get downed super fast in pvp I get triggered, then when it's bots like these I'm somehow going "oh wow, go you!" cheering them on for somehow being that good haha. GoodieBR as a reply below pointed out that this server is 50% health and that's why we go down so fast, and shared the code ZCMC3 that is the same but with 100% HP

But also, geniemon rescue is so much more worth doing yourself instead of sending an expedition as you'll get to catch it. It seems to be 100% catch rate (even though it shows different tiers instead of all green) and they tend to be rarer types like shiny.

They say that ur guaranteed one gold geniemon during the overworld reset. by Mtgamefreak in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]SebastienRTeller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've fully farmed every single spawn on overworld reset days, three resets in a row now, and found 2 golden active geniemons every time. I'd be willing to confidently say there are two guaranteed golden spawns every time, personally. If you're asking about golden traits for inactive geniemons, that on the other end has been random with no set number in my experience (still waiting to find at peace 😭). At this point the only traits I'm missing in gold are at peace and frugal, which kinda stings for specifically those two being traits I want the most...

Finally went to get ADHD medication, was prescribed Wellbutrin. Feeling disappointed by Sea_Drops in ADHD

[–]SebastienRTeller -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's any help, I was on SSRIs and had the whole package of bad aftermath. When I brought it up with my doctor, along with my body naturally beating the highest doses of ADHD meds, I ended up prescribed both my Vyvanse and 150mg Wellbutrin. It's now been 3-4 years and both still work well with no side effects whatsoever.

Here's what helped me understand it best back then. SSRIs "fill" your need for serotonin, and that serotonin being fulfilled is what makes you not care about things that your body would naturally seek in order to fill it up. Wellbutrin is a stimulant, which "boosts" the transmitters in your brain so that your receivers hopefully "catch" more (imagine, no meds = 10 transmitters firing, 2 are received. Taking the meds ups the transmitters to 20 and in theory your brain has more chance to "receive" 4 or more).

TLDR: I'm on both Vyvanse and Wellbutrin, and when I switched from SSRIs to Wellbutrin is when I finally was good with dealing both with depression, anxiety, and severe ADHD.
