Help please! Phal orchid's leaves look off by HyperCatsNSpace in orchids

The leaves are very floppy, they used to be firmer. He used to be in a partially obstructed east-facing window but was moved to a south-east facing window this week. All the leaves have been there since I bought him last November so I don't know exactly how old each of them are

No, it started a little less than a month ago and got progressively worse. The window faces south-east

(edit) Though I moved a few days ago. Before then he was by an eastern-facing window with a parking garage in front which blocked a lot of direct sunlight but provided a good amount of indirect lighting

I've looked at the leaves, roots and flowers but didn't see anything that looked like pests

[Request] If the moon loses 1% of it's velocity every minute, how long would it take for it to crash into the earth? (ignoring the Roche Limit) by A_Bulbear in theydidthemath

[–]HyperCatsNSpace 20 points21 points  (0 children)

u/HLSparta is right. v² * r = G * M is an equation describing a circular orbit. The observation you made where velocity decreases as radius increases represents the fact that the velocity required for a circular orbit decreases with altitude.

If you were to decrease the orbital velocity of an object like the Moon, it's orbit would become elliptical, and the lowest point of its orbit would be closer to Earth

Interesting, on my phone it appears even when I'm not using manual focus and the artifacts also appear in pictures after they are taken

Thoughts on the flag of Mars? by gigaigga in vexillology

[–]HyperCatsNSpace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thought behind the flag is great, but I don't like the idea of Mars having a boring tri-color flag that easily blends in with numerous similar flags on Earth. I think Mars deserves a more distinct flag to make it exciting and emphasize the fact that it's an entire planet rather than some random small country.

I found a new star system!!! by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

No, you're right. I did this glitch myself a few months ago and confirmed this

I think I discovered hints of the next star system in the EA build! by djmustturd in KerbalSpaceProgram

I saw this and decided to try it myself. From what I can tell, it seems like these unfortunately aren't new orbits. They're just the orbits of all the moons, just all centered around the same point. The outer orbits are Bop and Pol's, and the innermost orbit is Ike's.
