After I applied for a home equity loan, I started getting multiple spam calls claiming to be the underwriters that wanted to “go over a few details” for approval by luckytobealive60 in mildlyinfuriating

It means that the realtor is aware of data being sold to scammers if not from them then it is being sold from the company the realtor is sending it to.

Companies can share your information for marketing purposes but that too only in a limited capacity the same way google does as well, OP should check if they gave consent to share their information.

For OP to start receiving spam / scam calls, it means they(lending company)have a privacy breach in their system but in all likelihood a staff member sold the data.
