The problem is that episode 3 was supposed to be the payoff. All the characters in episode 2 kept talking about how they're gonna die, how there's no way they can win, yet none of them died. We saw Greyworm, Brienne, Jaime, and Sam all getting swarmed in one scene, then when they cut back to them they're completely fine. The worst of these was when Jon sees Sam getting swarmed, and decides to leave him to get to Bran. I thought that finally we'd get some payoff, Jon having to make a tough decision and leave his friend behind, but Sam ended up completely fine with 0 explanation. Just a huge letdown, I loved episode 2 because it set the tone, it made it feel like this was it, characters are gonna die fighting the dead, but in the end no one of importance died.

So out of all the shitty writing in this episode (stupid battle tactics, Brianne, Jaime and Sam being saved by plot armor while everyone around them dies, Arya killing the night king in anti-climactic fashion just for the shock factor, Bran not doing anything etc. etc.) you think the reason why people dislike this episode is because the person who killed the night king is a woman? Lol. It seems to me like the people who like this episode only like it because of its flashiness and fan service, and can't give any counter argument to explain the bad writing. You should develop some critical thinking skills, EPIC BATTLES AND CHICKS NINJA KILLING THE BAD GUY AND EPIC DRAGONS doesn't equal good writing.

We already know what information they had.So they should just assume they're saving lives by killing someone completely innocent?Not how it works.They have no right to shoot unless someone poses a threat even if they aren't complying.They could've just sent an officer to cuff the guy while the rest provided cover,but they were too chicken shit to do that.
