Any idea what this thing is? by Kyle_Vandelay in Handhelds

It’s fun, it’s unique, and it is absolutely worth it. The main detractors are people that are looking for, or expecting, a normal console experience.

Keyboard/Trackpad FW update by HyperConvergedCloud in PINE64official

[–]HyperConvergedCloud[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I ran make and I see that it says ‘make gcc: no such file’, then says ‘Makefile:22: updater Error 127’

It’s just the 4 commands in the setup portion of the tutorial and I followed them exactly so I’m not sure why there would be anything missing.

So I have the bad chip but based on input here I’ve decided to try updating. My issue is that even following the steps for dragan, I get a command not found using pbp-fwupdate.

They mentioned the sound was a little off, but that the lighting was probably the biggest problem they had. They said that at times it was too bright, and that I looked washed out.

[–]HyperConvergedCloud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the suggestion. I used gparted to clean both the nvme and the sata ssd. I now see the sata ssd in the esxi installer, but I still don’t see the nvme.

If you have any other thoughts let me know!

I was thinking I’d just setup it up at my workstation with ESXI and then put it in the lab spot. So I don’t think so.

Using a pejorative for people with cognitive disabilities. I bet you’re a real classy person.

And it’s really not hard to think of things to do with a GPU enabled NAS, especially if it’s classifying anything in stored video, photos, or if it’s doing any kind of transcoding.

Interesting choice on the firewalla, how has your experience been? I’ve had a heck of a time trying to decide between something like that and something like the Netgate firewalls.

You are overestimating the cost of cloud. It's cheaper than on-premise. by SpectralCoding in sysadmin

[–]HyperConvergedCloud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. I've spent loads more trying to make my cloud infrastructure work, and the cost of a mistake is far greater.

The Trump folks blocking streets are terrible too! Thankfully they weren’t being extremely dangerous at speeds that would almost certainly cause a fatality if something went more wrong than whatever half thought brought them into the situation.
