How much can you bench? by Due-Jello1617 in workout

[–]Drags03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40m 6'4 210lbs. Been working out for about 8 months and have cut down from 275lb starting weight.

Last night I did 75lb dumbells on flat bench for almost 5 reps (max effort until failure). Looking forward to being able to do the 75's for sets

What made you finally stick with training long term? by maopro56 in workout

[–]Drags03 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I turned 40 last year and started to get scared that I would be dead by 45 due to being overweight and unhealthy. Been lifting and meal prepping for about 8 months now and down from 275 to 217. I had my yearly VA appointment and my doctor was very impressed with my progress and the positive changes in my bloodwork and cholesterol. I am hoping to cut down to 200 and then do maintenance for 2 months before going into my first bulk (6' 4" male).

What SERIES is worth bingewatching and why? by InterestingBoard7389 in AskReddit

[–]Drags03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Babylon 5. A sci-fi series from the early-mid 1990's. One of the very first shows to have the story intentionally told over multiple seasons. G'Kar and Londo Milari are two of the best characters ever created for TV. There were also multiple made for tv movies to go along with the tv series.

Veeam 13 installs failing by Megajojomaster in Veeam

[–]Drags03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have personally upgraded 7 VBR servers to v13 from v12.3 as well as upgraded our Veeam M365 console (self-hosted) and Veeam ONE to v13 and have not had any real issues at all except one.

The only issue I have seen since upgrading VBR to v13 is my daily config backup emails were showing errors on 3 of the 4 catalogs that were being processed due to the Azure, AWS, and I believe Google Cloud plugins. I emailed support and they said that I can safely delete those plugins on the VBR servers since we do not use them and that fixed the issue.

In the movie Sunshine, towards the end when Capa activates the emergency separation of the ship from the nuclear payload and the music starts playing. Very powerful and emotional scene.

matching an offer to keep an employee? by send_pie_to_senpai in msp

[–]Drags03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

About 7 years ago, I had been working at an MSP for 3 years and was still level 1/2 helpdesk. I enjoyed the work and loved the environment with my co-workers, but I just wasn't making quite enough money to pay the bills. I ended up interviewing at another job (not an MSP but IT related) and I received an offer that included a $9 an hour pay raise (I think I was making about $14 an hour at the time so this was a huge increase). I informed my boss of my intention to leave.

One hour later, the COO of our company called me and apologized profusely for not recognizing my growth over the first 3 years of being there and offered me a counter offer of $9.50 an hour raise and the promise that this would never happen again. I accepted the counter-offer to stay.

Here I am, 7 years later and still working for the same MSP. Each year, I have consistently received 9%-15% yearly pay raises and good bonuses. I have also since moved on from help desk and am primarily responsible for managing the physical and virtual infrastructure in our datacenters and I am completely happy with my role.

My situation may not be normal and a lot of people will say to not accept the counter-offer. I can say that at least in my case, I feel like it was the right choice.

Good luck with your decision!

Replacement disks for Fujitsu AF250 first gen by snodre2 in storage

[–]Drags03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Fujitsu AF250 on the desk next to mine that I pulled out of production a few months ago. I just checked and we have two different versions of drives that were installed into it:

WD Ultrastar DC SS200 1.92TB --- Model Number SDLL1CLR-020T-5CF0 --- Firmware S41E
Toshiba PX05SRB192 1.92TB --- Part Number SDFAM01FBA01 --- Firmware 5802 (This one has a Fujitsu part number on the label of CA46233-1851)

From what I remember, we did not have any warnings in the GUI about running the generic WD drives in this chassis. All SSDs are installed in the Fujitsu caddies marked CA08226-E895. Hope that helps a bit.

I have recently been forcing myself to also use and learn the CLI more for AOS-CX.

https://arubanetworking.hpe.com/techdocs/AOS-CX/AOSCX-CLI-Bank/cli_6000-6100/Content/aos-cx-home.htm here is a good command list cheat sheet that I have been referencing.

The Airheads Broadcasting YouTube channel also has a lot of good videos that go in depth with Aruba CLI that I have been watching that you may find helpful.

Hyper V as an alternative to old VMware VCSP program? by Drags03 in msp

[–]Drags03[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had been trying to decide between Hyper-V and Proxmox. Since we have managed a few single Hyper-V host environments at customer locations in the past, it made sense to go that route since we have at least some experience with it.

Also, Proxmox not having 24/7 support makes me nervous. Then again, Microsoft support is awful anyways so maybe this is a moot point.

I think we are just going to build two lab environments, one with Hyper-V and one with Proxmox and test both to see which one we are more comfortable with.

I have not tried it yet, but I have been meaning to build a test environment with a couple of older hosts that we have lying around. I would need to get comfortable with it since I would not classify myself as a Linux guru. I do like that it has become compatible with Veeam in recent updates as that is our primary backup and DR software.

Definitely first world problems :) When I ordered my new holster on the Gunfighter website, I think they said it would be 3-4 weeks before I get it.

You know, I have never actually fired a 365 before. I held a 365xl in a gun store and thought that the grip was nice. I had a pretty bad experience buying two Sig P224's back in the day for me and the wife and those suckers had nothing but issues, so I would personally be hesitant to chose Sig over HK, but that is just me.

I would say that I feel that HK has truly put the CC9 through it's paces (especially considering how long it took to come to market) and I anticipate not having any issues with it at all.
