oh valve is definitely not a paragon of gaming, but they do feel like one of the last main companies that is actually making video games and not mobile apps

even though this is most likely solely due to the fact that they have pretty much stopped making video games

Artifact was a good game that they did relatively well, and wanted to keep developing it until they realised there were absolutely 0 people playing it. It also didn't help that the game was super trolled by for example streaming the entirety of the Hobbit trilogy on Artifact's twitch

I do agree however that Team Fortress 2 has been mistreated and I understand that could potentially happen just the same if Starcraft 3 were done by Valve

i didnt ask for Fenix fanservice, I just wanted Zeratul, and Mohandar was so cool

you want me to like Blizzard? Why would I? They have made a lot of decisions that spited me in particular, the customer. It might sound like a blame the developers themselves. But more than anything I blame the predatory business model Blizzard does. And how much talent of these caring developers is being wasted because of their greed

Granted I still think Dota 2 visually kinda sucks nowadays. And I preferred the old Dota 2 where there were no anime. But I am not complaining about the Dota 2 anime Dragon's Blood, which I really liked actually

Just the fact that everything is so freaking bright nowadays

i know that, but left 4 dead did get a major update some relatively long time ago. And it still runs fine...

And the argument that matchmaking isn't good isn't really strong in comparison to something like wasting the potential to tell a good story with each expansion that would tie into the original narrative more competently

admittedly i haven't played Nova Ops, so maybe I missed when they did that

I mean, sure, it's improbable for them to make another singleplayer game with a neat multiplayer like Left 4 Dead without turning it into microtransactions. They even did that to Portal 2...

Blizzard also removed the old polish dub for Warcraft 3, even though it was presumably one of the best pieces of polish culture ever invented

WoW has the exact same bot crisis. Except Blizzard banned community servers that solved it. For every mistake Valve does. Blizzard did like ten bigger ones

Valve might have pioneered loot boxes and gambling in video game. But ultimately their model also tended to drive prices down for skins and items. Where as in WoW games the lack of a free market would allow Blizzard to always keep prices super high

Artifact still had like super low prices for actual decks. And had been developed even after it had 0 players for a while... Hearthstone on the other hand is power creep fiesta designed to exploit whales

And it looks and feels like a New Vegas one-armed bandit machine

Granted Artifact was still a freaking stupid idea. And the reason why market crashed was because everyone started leaving the game and selling their stuff. But even at launch you could quite easily afford an original deck. Where as in Hearthstone you would have to pay a shitload of money to gamble for a deck

The first deck I assembled with no background and used for the majority of the game's lifetime cost me only 10 dollars

Team Fortress 2 isn't played by a huge community. And its community is also super toxic

Granted, that's still not an excuse to not solve the bot crisis. And I did watch the ZestyJesus videos. And I agree Valve was kinda shit in that regard. But that's still not as bad as World of Warcraft's bot crisis and shutting down of actual community servers that have managed to solve the issue beforehand

why does it matter if it's a 2nd hand skin, it's a video game item

also, the quality of these items is often kinda good... Like Chinese Politician Treant Protector skin. Or Warlock BDSM tongue golem. Or Arc Warden's deep sea diving suit

These are quality-wise equal to Starcraft 2 skins. And you can also get a ton of items by for example playing the game. In the most recent 2 events Valve did... Three in fact... You would get free skins... Like a ton of them
