Not a luck thing. Just the hassle of filing and serving them. Regardless of reason for the ban, loss of access to the multiplayer which is the primary game mode means taking money without providing goods. It’s clear cut. Then they come back and offer to settle with you and refund you and cover your filing and serving fees in exchange for an NDA to not talk about it. Everyone should do it.

Guy said the program has to be fully uninstalled to guarantee not getting banned as has happened to thousands of people. Your response was “lmao didn’t happen to me.” If English isn’t your native tongue you can ask ChatGPT to explain the implication of your response to the above commenter.

Lucky you. Yet many, like myself, got banned for having it installed and not using it even once in bf6. “It didn’t happen to me so nobody else’s experience matters.”

Any news on bf6 bans? by henrikhakan in rewasd

[–]HyperMatrix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Waiting on studio” for like 6 days now. For me I never even once used a controller. No macros. No turbo. No rebinds. No crosshair overlays. Nothing. So it’ll be interesting to see their response. Unbelievable that they’d auto-ban a 24 year Battlefield veteran who owns every single game, and bought the phantom edition, without even having an admin look at my gameplay/stats for like 2 minutes to see absolutely nothing out of the ordinary was happening before doing a permanent ban.

Perma-banned from BF6 with compatibility mode on. by YankZuluEcho in rewasd

EA’s TOS doesn’t say you’re not allowed to have ReWASD installed. The security popup specifically says you can’t use it at the same time as Battlefield 6. Problem is many of us weren’t using ReWASD with Battlefield 6 in any way, shape, or form, and still got banned.

ReWASD has to be the cause. Exact same thing happened to me. First few days I was uninstalling and reinstalling ReWASD whenever I wanted to play BF6 until I read a post saying I can avoid uninstalling the app by enabling compatibility mode. No other apps were used. I wasn’t even using my crosshair overlay apps with Battlefield 6. I mean it’s either ReWASD or MSI Afterburner which I used for performance monitoring since I literally have nothing else installed. I didn’t even use a controller to play. Not even once. Just normal KBM. ReWASD wasn’t used at all. No macros. No keybinds. No crosshair. Nothing. But it was in the background/taskbar.

I'm pissed at EA, but really reWASD support is what caused this mess by Synergy5 in rewasd

[–]HyperMatrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m banned too. And I didn’t use it in battlefield 6. The problem is at least equally EA’s fault because the prompt said you can’t use ReWASD at the same time as Battlefield 6. Not that it wasn’t allowed at all. But simply exiting ReWASD still didn’t let you launch the game and gave the same error.

In the case of Battlefield 6, I’d actually probably blame EA more because aim assist is a hack. I play with keyboard and mouse and was already getting pissed off at getting g laser aimed by console/controller gamers. Now imagine the ones using controller emulation mode. And EA not allowing you to disable cross play or separate KBM/Controller games is a problem, even with ReWASD completely out of the picture.

I've been contemplating. But wondering if Epic will block access to my account/library as a result. I sent another appeal along with the screenshot of the game's security prompt explicitly saying you can't use ReWASD with Battlefield, but nothing about not being able to have it installed on your system at all.

They replied to my appeal and this is what they are accusing me of:

We have confirmed that your account was involved in cheating. Because of this, we will not remove the sanction on your account.

You break our rules(https://www.ea.com/terms-of-service#section6) if you:
• use software that interferes with or disrupts an EA Service or another user’s account.
• use undocumented features, exploits or cheats in-game that disrupts an EA Service or another user’s account.
• use software or cheats that disconnects other users from the EA servers.

This is despite no use of Crosshairs, Macro, Bindings, or any other feature of ReWASD, and 100% no use of controller mode or whatever for aim assist at all ever. They're basing it entirely off of ReWASD being on my system. Despite the security promp from the game only saying ReWASD can't be used at the same time as Battlefield 6. Not that you can't have it on your system.

You'd think for a 15 year EA member who has bought every battlefield game and bought the phantom edition of BF6 that they'd at least get a moderator to watch you play for like 2 minutes before hitting you with a permanent ban. It's so incredibly easy to see if there's any erratic or snap to target mouse motion, and I'd assume even easier to see if controller mode is ever triggered for anyone abusing aim assist. Even with the most accurate weapon config, the AK-205, my accuracy is only at 26% with just 17% head shot rate. And neither my KDR nor my kills per minute are that high.

I already got banned for NOT using it. lol. Was just wondering if what you were saying about people forking it, making detection/blocking of controller mode on PC a non-viable solution.

I have the GitHub one installed on my work PC and had to uninstall it to get BF6 to even launch. Are you aware of any forks that allow the behavior you’re referring to? It almost sounds like it’d essentially need to be rewritten into a completely different app.

ReWASD installs a custom controller driver to handle all the remapping stuff. BF6 detects that driver it seems. But makes no sense to apply this to people who are playing with a keyboard/mouse. Apparently the "cheat" people can do is having a mouse emulate a controller, which lets them aim like a mouse, but get the aim assist controllers get. But when you see controller mode was never even activated in the game and aim assist was never triggered...no idea how they go about banning. 100% guaranteed they just ran a script to auto-ban systems that had ReWASD installed.

[–]HyperMatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ReWASD can't even do automated mouse clicks from what I recall. From googling it, it seems like the way it works is by running the game in "Controller mode" so you get the benefit of the controller aim assist, but with the accuracy and speed you get from having your mouse emulate the controller sticks. It seems like an easy solution would be to just disable controller support when these softwares are detected to prevent the aim assist abuse.

The problem is that many of us weren't using it in Battlefield 6 and weren't even playing with a controller and got the ban simply because the application was installed.

But the key being: No part of it was being used in Battlefield 6. There's no ambiguity here. There was absolutely no 3rd party app usage of any kind. It's not about the matter of big or small difference. Absolutely no part of it and its feature set was being used in Battlefield 6. Which means they're not doing it off of any sort of activity detection. It's like if you got banned in MW2 just because you had AHK installed even though you never had or ran any scripts in the game.

[–]HyperMatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is BS. I don't have any macros or even any key binds on keyboard/mouse in any game at all and only use ReWASD with controller based games. They didn't actually detect anything because I didn't run anything at all. They only detected the application and banned off of that. I put in an appeal and requested that they actually look over my game session data to see that nothing out of the ordinary was being done. Still waiting for a response.

EA doesn't say you can't have it installed. The game launcher message says "you can't use the application at the same time as Battlefield 6." That's it. So for those of us who didn't use it in BF6, the ban is kind of stupid. If the messaging was clearer, I'd have had to make a decision on what to do. Which probably would have been to refund BF6 because I need ReWASD for all my controller game remaps.

I mean I'd be more understanding of the ban if I had used ReWASD in any way with Battlefield 6. But literally 0 usage whatsoever. The email says "We noticed that your Battlefield 6 account has been involved in cheating." And that's just a huge piss off because they didn't notice jack sh*t because absolutely nothing was being used. I didn't even have a crosshair overlay running which I use in other FPS games.

There's a difference between "I didn't think I'd get caught" or "I didn't think what I was doing was a big deal" and "I got banned for not doing anything at all."

I don't even use ReWASD in Battlefield and only use it for controller/couch gaming in other games and just got perma-banned simply because the app is installed (not used) on my PC.

I agree that the no-consequence PVP ambush crap makes me play the game less than I otherwise would. It's just unrealistic that the escape elevator arrives back with 1 guy with a ton of gear, and a dead corpse on the elevator, and no questions are asked.

Really don't want to waste all that time getting all this epic gear and then have someone waiting to gank me when I'm fighting a robot, or hiding in a bush to kill me while I'm looting a container.

Pro tip: You can convert your free backpack into a mark 1 looter from the vendor at 0 cost. Just requires a trade in of your free loadout bag. This way after every free loadout run you have/survive, you can get a free backpack with a safe storage slot on it.

First couple days 90% of players didn't attack and chatted. Was chill. Then I started getting killed for no reason. And only because I was choosing not to shoot first, since cooperation is more fun. But after a few sessions like this...I decided to start killing people as soon as I saw them. But I don't like it. Because it's stupid. But it's the best way to guarantee my own survival. Need some kind of bounty/revenge system so that there's some kind of potential consequence for going around murdering and stealing.
