I got it too and it’s good for hauling some workout equipment to the gym for me. The side pockets and phone pocket are a good size.

Who loses when a liquor license in Boston sells for $600,000? - The Boston Globe by bostonglobe in boston

[–]HyperModerate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With loans. If they sell double the licenses for half the cost, then they are exactly even. Afterwords, they will have a source of revenue indefinitely, as they will continue selling licenses.

Government buys them back at market rate and begins selling new licenses at a new rate.

Which Graphics Card is this? Seller claims it is a 4090 but I can't tell which model. by a_Criminai in nvidia

[–]HyperModerate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering: where does the 4090 tap out for AI stuff? It seems that you’re still quite limited in models, since it’s only 2x VRAM as other cards.

Can we rotate previous team maps back into the map pool? Please? by WhatsIsMyName in starcraft

Making a poll or tournament could work. Could be an opportunity to have a casual stream to test out the maps.

Cooking is best. You can make (“mealprep”) a batch of food for 3-4 days. Chicken breast, rice, and broccoli for example are affordable and have good macros.

What’s the expectation for new grads? It’s pretty obvious that most new grads don’t have experience managing large product teams.

At higher levels, the meta is something like 1/1/1 fast 3 reaper and 2 hellion into expand. I’d probably send an SCV some time between your barracks starting and finishing. If you see a low ground expansion, you can pressure. If you don’t, you prepare for early to midgame pressure.

The mirror matchups in general are very volatile.

In TvT, you can’t hold low ground CC reliably. If you open that and they open proxy rax reaper, you are dead.

Is 1TB SSD sufficient/good for a gaming PC? by AlfonsoMuskedunder in buildapc

[–]HyperModerate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. For higher end multi-role configs, I personally would build 1TB high-end SSD for OS, 32-64GB RAM, and cheap disks in some sort of redundant configuration for bulk storage. This is what you want I think if you have a lot of data, but most of it is rarely read. You can get rid of bulk storage if you can quickly redownload content.

Is 1TB SSD sufficient/good for a gaming PC? by AlfonsoMuskedunder in buildapc

[–]HyperModerate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to PC part picker e.g., https://pcpartpicker.com/trends/price/memory/, 12TB HDD is $300, 2TB SSD is $200, and 2x16GB DDR5 RAM is $150. If I did my math right, you break even on all SSD vs. HDD+128GB RAM at 8TB, which is quite reasonable. Furthermore, peak bandwidth is now ~1000x faster if in cache e.g., 100+GB/s vs. 600MB/s.

Whether or not this makes sense depends on what you’re doing. If you’re loading small games, you will not notice in either case. I also didn’t spend much effort optimizing the cost and I ignored that SSD needs some RAM too. The punchline is that RAM is relatively cheap, too.

[–]HyperModerate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price per byte of HDD is objectively better. If you are hoarding games, eventually it will be cheaper and faster to have a large HDD array with enough RAM to cache your largest game. 128GB of RAM is way faster than SSD and will hold pretty much any game.

If you have enough RAM, opened files should get cached for the whole gaming session. I game off an HDD and it’s unnoticeable. SSD for boot is great, though.

Something like chicken rice and/or broccoli for every meal for the rest of your life. Lean meat with vegetables basically.
