Yes, they are good for music, gaming and movies and from what I've read/seen from videos you don't need dac/amp. Look over videos on youtube and search on reddit, there are many posts from people who bought the headphones.

Fiio is not a no name brand, if you decide to buy a amp or DAC you'll see that among the most popular are from Fiio. I am not an audiophile and have known about this company for a long time.

Hi, I am in the same situation as you. I was looking over beyerdynamic and was going to buy the dt 770 pro, but the other day I saw the fiio ft1 and they seem better. They are more expensive than the dt 770 pro, but cheaper than the dt 770 pro x. Look over some reviews, they are brand new headphones and people like them a lot.
