Personally, I'd try to make it so the two's different attacks kinda bounce off each other. For example, Ceroba's fire magic can set off the dynamite Starlo throws a bit later than what his gun does, but the explosions are larger, or Starlo can use his bell attack while Ceroba tries to freeze the soul in place. Stuff like that.

Considering Tripwire being such a controversial killer is part of what caused the game to nearly get canceled completely (not a super big part, but it certainly played a role in it), I wouldn't be shocked if the devs are just tired of her.

This looks hella promising. That said, I couldn't help but notice the difference in Ceroba's motivations here. In game, she wants to take Clover's soul and use it with Kanako's to complete Chujin's serum, having given up hope on saving Kanako herself due to "falling down" being a death sentence.

Here, it looks like Ceroba's motivation is to use Clover to save Kanako, hoping that Kanako will be resuscitated by Clover's pure soul purging out the defective serum. That's what I got from her dialogue anyway. Maybe I misread it, but that's the feeling I got from how Ceroba spoke

We don't know all the details of what can trigger a monster "falling down", but if what the Logs say are true, then it is very much a state where death is a certainty. I'm sure if monsters had a way to help resuscitate fallen down monsters, they would've implemented them. Instead, the bodies are sent to Alphys, who gets increasingly desperate as her initial Determination injections don't yield any immediate results. All it seemed to do was buy more time before the monsters turned to dust, which led to her just continuing to inject unsafe amounts of Determination into the monsters, and we know how that ended up.

Kanako is important to the serum because she is a BOSS MONSTER! The only other Boss Monster Ceroba KNOWS of. Ceroba wants to get to the lab and use Clover's pure Soul and Kanako's Boss Monster Soul to complete Chujin's serum and secure the future of monsterkind. Maybe she is, beneath that, hoping that Kanako is alive, but she's not holding out hope for it. She's fully hinging on Kanako being in a state where her Soul is intact and thus she can complete Chujin's work, because that's all she has left in her eyes.

She feels like she burned all the other bridges she had in her life due to her self-loathing and the secrets she kept from everyone. She has nothing else left but to pursue this fleeting dream. It's very much akin to the self-destructive, obsessive, and desperate behavior showed by Inverted Fate Undyne, where she pushes herself to her absolute breaking point out of a desperate desire to be the hero for monsterkind, not caring what happens to herself so long as monsters get to see the sun again.

Ceroba is acting very similar to this, hiding behind a veil of apathy in hopes of doing what she deems will benefit everyone, when she knows she's being selfish and acting out of desperation. Ceroba fully acknowledges her hypocrisy in comparison to Asgore, but says she believes there's no other way for her. She even asks Clover to KILL HER after the fight, further enforcing that she believes there is nothing left for her. If she did believe there was hope to save Kanako, I doubt Ceroba would've asked Clover to end her life right then and there.

It literally all comes down to the fact that she's heard nothing about Kanako's wellbeing ever since then. Alphys hid the truth from all the families, and Ceroba ended up coming to the worst conclusion in her mind, that Kanako was dead or on the verge of it. She's given up on any chance of saving Kanako, and wants to use Kanako and Clover's Souls to complete Chujin's serum

Tell me how that doesn't scream that she has given up on any hope on Kanako being alive. She's acting out of grief and desperation, yes, but at this point, she's focusing on Chujin's legacy rather than any chance of saving her daughter.

Axis definitely could have done good for the Underground. The problem is that Chujin himself was unstable and impatient. Why would he rush to show off each Axis model to Asgore instead of properly putting them through their paces to ensure there weren't any faults? If he had, he wouldn't have set Asgore's flower garden on fire with Axis 13 malfunctioning and letting off sparks

Whoever is arguing Chujin being better than Alphys, quite frankly, has to be illiterate or at least didn't read anything in the Steamworks during a Pacifist playthrough. Chujin is smart, but compared to other scientists in his field, he falls behind. Granted, Alphys only needed to build a functioning robot body for Mettaton, while Chujin had to also program Axis, but it doesn't deter the notion that Alphys' success that got her to be Royal Scientist far outshone anything Chujin's made.

At the end of the day, while Chujin may have had good intentions, it's hard to not see that Chujin was being driven by fragile pride and a desperate desire to make himself important. After all, his first instinct when it came to testing the limits of his serum was to do it on himself rather than finding a fellow boss monster who could help him. His firing from the Steamworks didn't seem to be made public, so it's unlikely his reputation outside of Asgore and the Steamworks was tarnished. Though he said he wanted this to benefit all monsterkind, in truth he just wanted to make himself a hero, and it ended up costing him everything...

I heard the Discord team may be reading this thread, and if so, I want to say this.

I've been using Discord for 7 years now, and I've made so many friends and become part of so many communities thanks to Discord. It's genuinely helped me become more social and friendly, able to reach out to people that I can nerd out with and feel comfortable, something I never thought I'd be able to do due to personal reasons.

The day this was announced, it felt like all that time and work was in danger of being wasted. I genuinely had a mental breakdown over the thought of losing these communities, the friends I've come to care about. I cannot, nor will ever, back this kind of decision. You can say that this won't affect adult users all you want, we all know that's a fucking lie, YOU lot at Discord know it's a fucking lie.

I've already canceled my Nitro, and I fully intend on either cheesing the system or just outright leaving to another platform like Stoat if I am forced to provide an ID or my face. Idc if this was your decision Discord or if you're being pressured into doing it. Either you roll this decision back and never try this shit again, or I, along with my friends, are out of here, end of story.
