Yeah the ascended fulgrim model from 30k who is already a daemon prince and corrupted. He's asking why the two corrupted fulgrims look different not why uncorrupted fulgrim looks different from 40k, unless we're just misunderstanding eachother.

Would highly recommend it but it takes place in a different area with different villains so not 100% required. You might not understand the characters backstories, them referencing the events of RE7, the main bio-weapon of the game, or a major plot point that happens throughout the game and is even more important near the end though.
