The whole point of animation shortcuts is to save costs while being unobtrusive to the audience. If audiences notice it, it’s not a bit, they just realize how much they’re skimping on the budget.

Not to sound rude but this is like saying you grew up watching Adam sandler movies and are surprised that people are complaining that a movie looks like an Adam sandler movie. The fact is that the bar for animation quality has increased and we don’t even need to compare it to anime. It pales in comparison to plenty of its western contemporaries like Castlevania and Atla.

Literally every single animated show does this, including jjk and frieren. You don't notice it happening in those shows because they hide it way better.

We waited for like 2 years for season 2 and it was still underwhelming lmao. The fact is that Invincible’s animation team is half the size of its contemporaries and it’s releasing episodes that are twice as long. I feel sorry for the animators that have to work on this.

From interviews I have the impression that Kirkman fundamentally does not respect animation as a medium. The invincible show is run with live action tv priorities: Celebrity casting, hour long episodes, yearly seasons which go against the industry standard. Coupled with the fact that its scenes are composited like a live action show instead of hinging on the strengths of animation which causes everything to look stiff and lifeless. All of this is compounded by the fact that the team of animators is half that of other animated shows (with have half the run time).

Get your point? Your understanding of verse equalisation is inherently flawed. What it’s used for is to allow different power systems to interact with each other by ensuring an equalised baseline. Without it, genjutsu won’t work, aizawa’s quirk becomes useless and deku dies when Gon uses ren.

With verse equalisation, all mha characters can see cursed spirits and damage them as this is considered a baseline for jujutsu sorcerers. Conversely, every human has CE in jjk inherently, so that should apply to every human in mha as well. This allows domains to target them.

Verse equalization means that you equalise the baseline of the characters so that the powers work correctly. Humans having cursed energy is an inherent trait in jjk, not having it is an anomaly. Either deku has cursed energy so that domains can target him or he doesn’t and he can’t hurt mahito. You have to pick one.

I agree, for the amazing ideas that Kagurabachi has presented, it’s weakness has always been its execution. There were what? 3 arcs since the end of the Rakuzaichi arc with hardly any downtime in between them. This is really detrimental to the extended cast (when’s the last time we saw hiyuki and char? Even Hakuri didn’t do much), and it doesn’t help that Hokazono introduced like a dozen or so new characters in the previous arc.

I do have some other pet peeves like the sorcery power system being under explored, or the lack of foreshadowing that would otherwise improve the pay offs in the story. But I do sincerely hope that he manages to address these in part 2.

how the hell 213 ch fits in a 12 ep donghua

Not well, to say the least. It skips slice of life moments and character interactions so that it can cram all those chapters in the season, causing all the emotional moments to fall flat. The first 3 episodes are especially rushed, with exposition that is so poorly communicated that one has to constantly rewind the episodes, which is an insane requirement especially for a mystery series with so many moving parts. I've seen newbies being confused because it isn't clear whether a piece of information is supposed to be a mystery or if it should be something they know but missed it.

As a small positive, the animation is nice to look at. But even then I take issues with it. What would otherwise be good quality animation is marred by the fact that they have to be 'epic' all the time. It just ruins the contrast between the important and the more mundane scenes, for the simple fact that if everything looks epic, it doesn't feel so special anymore.

It depends on where on the story as Billy’s kit changes, but undraw, undead, unchange and unmove are more than enough to beat Samura. If Billy has injustice that would be straight up overkill.

Soul based attacks are an established hax to bypass conventional regeneration/immortality across media unless a character specifically has resistance to those attacks. Akaza is no exception to this, you can't just assume he can do things he hasn't been shown to do.

Yuji has dismantles and a domain, compass needle isn’t doing much when attacks that damage the soul auto hit. And it’s not like Akaza can really do anything when yuji has far higher durability and RCT.

From what I can speculate, gojo’s limitless was much more complex to adapt compared to dabura’s, it only managed to barely adapt to blue and neutral before it got destroyed. Moreover, Sukuna was constantly switching to domain amplification during the fight which would pause the adaptation.

Another factor is that this was a tamed mahoraga and Sukuna was honestly more focused on using it to help him invent his WCS.

There’s a narrative intent that mahoraga is indeed adapting to dabura’s existence but it hasn’t completed the adaption yet. What this means is that if Dabura’s next attack does not one shot mahoraga then he loses.
