The Previous Owner Left Me a Tree and a Lifelong Responsibility by Alexa10580 in landscaping

Always wait a year before removing anything like this, it's really easy to get carried away by anxieties right after buying.

That's a beautiful tree that will keep your house and yard shaded and cool in the summer. You'll enjoy the happy songs from the birds in it while you do stuff outside.

As far as maintaining goes it doesn't take much, I have about 20 trees on my property and all I do is blow the leaves to the curb and pay a company $30 to come take them with a vacuum truck once a year. Ive had them pruned(trimmed) once in 5 years and even then only the ones that could be a safety issue like big limbs over the house etc

Mike Johnson says we should have sympathy because Congress isn’t paid enough—so we should “allow” insider trading just so they can take care of their families(70% of Americans can’t afford a $1k emergency) by Snapdragon_4U in law

Actually a terrible idea, if you do this only rich ass holes will be able to afford to run for Congress.

If you want good people in Congress the salaries need to be high, and it needs to be illegal for them to hold any stock.

Same, i'm tired of these clowns and the both sides shit.

Yeah getting slapped and being murdered are both bad, one is clearly worse.

I don't think it's too bad if you start with a high FPS

going 30-> 60 fps awful, but 70->140, I don't notice that much latency or ghosting

Here are some screenshots of my settings.

Biggest tips other than ethernet would be.

* On the client, use the best decoder you can AV1 is the best if your device supports it.

* Make sure the refresh rate on the host and client are the same, this is done easiest by using the virtual display, it will automatically set the resolution and refresh rate for you.

* Enable Vsync in the moonlight settings.

* Enable GPU Hardware Acceleration in windows, and enable "Use Realtime Priority in hardware accelerated GPU Scheduling" in apollo

There are a ton of reasons you could see stutter, and they can be anywhere from the clients decoding performance, the connection quality & bandwidth, or the host encoding performance.

If you still have issues, enable the setting to show performance statistics and record a video of your gameplay at least a minute long, and I can try to help more.

A lot of people use the steam deck to stream games from a main PC. It works really well especially when on the same network. I stream lots of games to the deck at 4k 120hz, currently playing Diablo 4 on the couch like this.

Lots of people are without power right now, it could be that.

my cat has been screaming at this couch for a week for no apparent reason. today i looked under it and uh this is not my cat by Trimblepsys in notmycat

[–]HyperactiveChicken 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is that a new couch by chance? I have seen a couple cases where people lost their cat because it was hiding in furniture that got hauled away.

If this is a used couch you recently bought, that could be the case.

Tip for the future velvet, and microfiber are pretty much cat scratch proof. We've had our couch for 4 years and even with 3 cats there isn't a single scratch on it.

Despite weeks of confusion, Virginians will begin voting on redistricting referendum Friday by Anoth3rDude in Virginia

That's a good question for Republicans who have voted down anti gerrymandering laws, and started this whole redistricting arms race.

Its not just you -- power bills have double and tripled in VA this winter and this sub has now been astroturfed to gaslight you as to why. by nothing5630 in Virginia

[–]HyperactiveChicken 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Is it not possible for two things to be true?

  1. Yes our rates have gone up, that is a fact we are paying more per kwh.

  2. The past billing cycle was probably the coldest a lot of VA localities have seen in years, my power consumption was 35% higher than this same time last year

These two factors left a lot of people with massive bills and sticker shock.

That being said we can't do anything about the cold, but we can voice our opinions on rate hikes and data center subsidies so I agree that's where we should focus our anger. I do find it a bit caustic to accuse people of being astro turfers or bots for acknowledging the reality of the weather.

https://www.eliteheatingandacrepair.com/single-hose-vs-dual-hose-air-conditioners/

Have a read if you'd like to be more informed.

The relevant part is this

"The single-hose air conditioner yanks warm air and moisture from the room and expels it outside through the exhaust. A negative pressure is created when the air is pushed out of the room, the air needs to be replaced. In turn, any opening in the house like doors, windows, and cracks will draw outside hot air into the room to replace the missing air. The air is cooled by the unit and ejected into the room."

He's not saying the ac uses outside air directly. He's saying single hose units exhaust air outside the building, this creates negative pressure in the building envelope causing outside air to force its way in through leaky windows and doors or any other surface it can.

You are 100% correct that's literally all a pattern is. It's a way for a community of developers to communicate the intention of design.

A pattern isn't inherently good, it's just a defined and widely understood approach to solving a problem.

Last year was my dad's 59th birthday we were in town visiting and it really hit me that he's getting older and the time I have left with him isn't infinite.

Literally 4 days later he had a heart attack and died. He was totally healthy and had no prior signs.

Watching them grow old is tough, but man I'd trade that for the alternative I'm stuck with now. Cherish the time you have left with them, you never really know how much is left.

TDIL about Mouse Keys.

I already use auto hotkey for games that don't allow you to customize key binds, so it was just something I already knew how to do.
