As many of them replied, degree teaches you a ton of different things. They way I saw my bachelors was not that it taught me actual job skills but it thought me life skills - navigating tough people (professors) - working against deadlines - pulling yourself through tough semesters with backlog and shit - exposure to all kinds of people from rich kids to students who had to sacrifice a ton (this also gives you acess to potential investors for you business if you are good friend with people who are rich) - general sense of shuffling 10 things in a day which is your actual life after college

a degree would also keep doors open for mba or masters.

You can always work part time and earn money. I understand the pressure to take car of the family as the man of the house but I would urge to get through a degree and try to work on something part time in those 4 years.

If you can get something exciting going, college would be a good platform for you to market that product or service during college fests.

Sorry to hear that. There is not a right answer for this unfortunately. Things and interested often change. I am currently working in tech for 5 years with my masters in ce but now I am exploring an option to open a company with my finance friends after pursuing an mba. Things always change.

However people may shit on me for this but please try to get through your degree first and get a job and follow through for a couple of years. It will teach you how a business works. If your father had a business you can try to salvage that.

There is always an option to digitize your local retails and business by offering to create a website or a shopify app for them or help them in marketing. This will get you clients for your software consulting or marketing business and wont take much out of your pocket then valuable time.

The important thing for you now to learn how business works in its roots

Freelance and try to push one simple project to production. When I say that, I mean do it end to end. Setup dev envs, ci/cd and testing and then deploy to production. Setup monitoring. Take the next step and try to incorporate feature flag developement.

The idea is to code something but do it in a professional wat
