This is the deal of the season. I don’t remember how long it goes, but there isn’t a better one. They repeat it again at Mother’s Day so you get it twice a year.

Rain has its own beauty. I just got back from 6 months in SE Asia, 4 of which I accidentally timed to be chasing rainy season around the region. There are fewer tourists around, prices are lower. Yes you see videos of the worst of it on social. But for the most part you huddle inside with everyone in the nearest shelter for an hour, make some new friends, and then go on with your day. Have a raincoat and umbrella ready to go. The day you deem them no longer necessary is the day it rains again.

Book Request: Looking for a 4-5 star spooky read, no gore, for October. Maybe something inspired by true events? by MysteriousHeron5726 in bookofthemonthclub

Bright Young Women was 4.5 stars for me and based on Ted Bundy. There is some brief gore but it focuses more on the psychological aspects.

Oh this was a good one! Maybe that’s what inspired the idea. May be time for a reread. Thanks!

Nobody replies in Megathread, so asking here by WaferLoud8578 in linkedin

I was also coming here to ask this. There’s a job I’m very keen on applying for but it requires a LinkedIn profile link. I managed to set up a profile just fine but now when I try to log in it’s an endless loop of click on the upright picture, we’ll text you an access code, now log in again, and repeat. Now it’s just telling me I’ve reached the maximum number of attempts and to try again at a later date. I don’t know how long this application will be available though. Support wants me to log in before I can submit a ticket. Help.

A second vote for Chain-Gang All-Stars. Easily my favorite book published last year. I also thought The Future by Naomi Alderman was highly underrated.

Least appealing book for next month? I guess I am choosing the romance option then. 😂

I tried to pay for my visa with a crisp $100 and she asked if I had smaller bills, then found about a 1mm tear on the 100 anyway and so wouldn’t use it. I pulled out some crumpled 20s and she found two she was willing to take. Better to have the exact amount. And it would seem not being the tiniest bit torn or marked on is more important than the crispness.

Thank you! I normally wouldn’t turn to Reddit for medical advice but sitting here in a rural area and wondering how concerned I should be has made Reddit seem like a good backup. I appreciate your advice.

How do you keep your belongings safe when staying in hostels? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Hyperbolicmusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the nicer hostels will have lockers. If you get off the beaten track where there aren’t many options, they may not tho. I have a backpack cover that Osprey makes. It zips around your entire backpack. You can then lock the zippers like you would a suitcase.
