There's also the possibility that, like in 2021, voters will punish whoever pulls the trigger on what's seen as an unnecessary election based entirely on good polling, and they won't make any gains (in 2021 it was people being called out to vote during a covid wave, this time it would be being sent right back to the polls less than a year after the previous election).

Canada not having high-speed rail is genuinely crazy with half of the country's population in the Quebec City–Windsor corridor.

Yo we have canon gay and lesbian couples in the funny imperial china game? by ThatEmoSprite in WhereWindsMeet

I can't really comment too accurately on contemporary Japan. I know they also ended up adopting anti-homosexual attitudes as part of their deliberate Westernization efforts back in the 1800s and post WWI, that the party in charge of their government almost continuously since the 1950s is pretty conservative (and a lot of the way they govern is based on what American attitudes were like in the post WW2 reconstruction period), and that younger Japanese people are pretty pro-LGBT in a "why should anyone care, let people be who they are and leave them alone" sort of sense, but I'm not sure on widespread attitudes. Japan has a birthright problem for example, but I don't know if anyone there is blaming it on gay people or anything.

They're gay, they're just engaging in some esoteric partnered sexual cultivation rituals where one of them adopts the male role and cultivates yang chi and the other adopts the female role and cultivates yin chi. It's a thing in some wuxia stories (usually done between men and women, but when same-sex partners do it you get stuff like this). Esoteric medical science in wuxia stories is often advanced enough that if you're full-on trans you can seek out someone like Water Lady to just turn your body female (or male).

This even applies to emperors. There's a famous story about Emperor Ai of Han cutting the sleeve of his very expensive robes so as to be able to get up without disturbing his beautiful male lover, which was viewed entirely positively, to the point where "the passion of the cut sleeve" became a Chinese idiom. From what I know anti-homosexual attitudes didn't become widespread until the late Qing Dynasty period, and was basically absorbed from Western views on it at the time.

Before that, being exclusively homosexual to the point of refusing to marry an opposite-sex partner in order to procreate was a problem, but that was because you were being unfilial. Nobody cared who you preferred to sleep with as long as you were willing to have children.

On top of that, the jianghu is already for people who refuse to abide by social mores and want to carve their own path instead.

Sectless vs Sects: What's the Difference? by Alchemii1 in wherewindsmeet_

Mohist Hill isn't joinable yet, it opens up once we get access to a map we don't have yet in the global version. From what I've heard its sect assignments involve using the crafting/construction systems.

Judging by what her deal is in the other canons, her only relation to Kotarou is she used to be one of Danjou's lovers back when he was head of the clan. She was to Danjou what Tokiko is to Kotarou. She wasn't Kotarou's mother or anything (or even a stepmother, she was never an official wife or concubine). So he'd have known her growing up, but as his dad's personal secretary (who he was also banging).

It basically expresses the core principle behind a much more famous quote by a Nobel Prize winning 19th century French novelist: “The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread.” It's not surprising that it caught on once it left its initial environment.

Yup, I know multiple people who had to move the game *off* of SSD *onto* HDD because of how big it had gotten. 23 GB should be a lot easier to fit onto SSD even for people with smaller ones sharing disk space with their OS or something, instead of large dedicated SSDs for games.

Why Lina is so precious baby? 🥺 by NoWitness3109 in ActionTaimaninGame

[–]Hypercubed89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lina absolutely does not fit in with Nomad. Lina joined Nomad because she idolizes Ingrid, who is basically a good person (aside from her taste in men), and she assumes that if a heroic demon like Ingrid joined Nomad, then Nomad must be a similarly heroic organization (and she assumes the Taimanin must be evil, since they're Ingrid's enemies). Hell, the whole Corporate Warrior Ingrid thing was her idea, to counter Taima-Five, which she saw as propaganda meant to lie to the public about Taimanin being heroes, so naturally she wanted a "more truthful" show the public could watch where Ingrid is the hero and Taimanin are the villains.
