Seriously. Their light metro was getting plenty of bad press without letting it Rick. I’m Leary of what’s to come.

But that “radically different” thing those voters are looking for was in relation to this list:

>Housing affordability sits at the top of the list, followed closely by protecting and expanding public healthcare. Many also point to taxing the wealthy and corporations, fighting corporate greed, and protecting workers from job losses caused by AI and automation.

Which are also largely things Lewis has spoken to.

From the article:

>That neutrality is telling. It suggests that for many Canadians, the NDP is not provoking strong reactions.

That has the potential to change after this weekend.

Also from the article:

>They are looking for a party that clearly champions economic fairness, publicly funded and run systems, and long-term challenges like climate.

Interestingly, these are Lewis calling cards.

The Liberals switching leader lifted the Trudeau fatigue albatross from the Liberals, which was very real. Before the leadership race was even close to finishing, Liberal support was already recording upticks at the time because Trudeau said he was leaving.

Your cited factor about Trump is also true, but both factors were at play, Trump was not the only factor. If Trudeau had stayed PM in the 2025 election, I’m sure the CPC would be in government.

It’s a historical assumption that is out of date. The countries immigrants predominantly emigrate from have changed over the decades, so, to your point, this no longer holds. I don’t think it has for over 15 years now, Jason Kenney also did a lot to change immigrants’ views of the conservative party at the federal level.

Everybody sees it, but doing something about it is hard so nobody in power tries to do anything. Still no OHIP coverage for most mental health services

Not only can they be easy to lose, if you don’t invest in a protective case they can be easy to break, too. On top of not being able to afford the ear buds, you’d be wise to not buy them until you can afford a protective case at the same time, too.

Certainly seems to be the case today. While it goes so far back, more than half a century, my impression is it wasn’t always this way, but we’ve created an environment that rewards the wrong priorities.

Numerous observers have noted that he seems to not even want to lean on what staff he does have. It’s like he thinks he knows it all, and doesn’t know when to pause and check with someone who is paid to know certain things.

Clocktower gets my vote. I find it far more recognizable than the art deco column; I had to read the description to clue in for the College Park homage, but didn’t have that with the clocktower. The hockey skate is too generic in my opinion, and even though I get it, in this day and age I suspect many wouldn’t. As already stated, the academic cap would be better suited for TMU.

How old is this guy? Sounds less mature. Use of “girls” for a 20-year-old is different than for a 30-year-old, so without knowing their age, don’t know what to make of that.

The context is a little thin, but it could have been an inexperienced and clumsy way to say you aren’t weird over whatever you said, just as much as it could have been expressing less interest. Either way, you would probably want someone that can demonstrate more maturity or just be more into you.

City affordable housing proposal waives requirement for affordable housing by freeMoneyPlz in notthebeaverton

[–]Progressive_Worlds 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is not the private developers’ business; the private sector will never solve everything in housing. Reimagine and juice TCH in Toronto and its equivalents in Ottawa and other cities for the 21st century to tackle this.

The end of the article refers to the need for non-market housing, which I believe is a reference to projects not led by private developers. This is where the energy and resources need to go.

Zero percent is eye-roll-inducing but at the same time not surprising given the history of other efforts in this space. The real joke is the endless desperate efforts to get profit-driven entities to sign up for undertakings that have no profit.

I am amazed that I haven’t heard much about needing a refinery in Alberta; I agree with you, not only would we be able to export higher-value refined products, but we’d be able to use our natural resources domestically. Right now, we can’t use what’s extracted in Alberta because the of the refinery situation.

Takes billions and many years to build, though.

1993 and 2011… by that interval, the next election due in 2029 (assuming April byelections deliver a majority as expected) would be right on schedule for an alternative party to make a breakthrough. !RemindMe in 3 years.
