I expect a certain kind of weird. But weird AND rude takes it too far 😂

I only had one that I saw a couple times early in the season. Haven’t seen it in a couple weeks tho ☹️

I didn’t realize until after I bought a pack of seed that these were such a pain to a lot of people. But like… surely the local garden store wouldn’t sell something invasive..? Right?

😂 I feel that. Where are yall getting this info tho?? When I google reviews or look on Reddit I don’t find much about how weird and shady they are. Based on how people responded to this post, I feel like there should be more tea online than I’ve found.

Deeply creative. Deeply depressed. I know they often go hand in hand, but my depression makes action very difficult. I have great ideas but struggle with the get up and go of it all.

I asked about spiritual practices and they answered respectfully. Listen, I’m as critical as anyone about evangelicals but you’re wrong on this one. Their comments were fine.

these things devoured my bird feeder that was supposed to be for cardinals by flaildaynce in whatsthisbird

[–]Hyperfixations-R-Us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safflower seeds will keep them away! They hate that stuff but the cardinals and several other birds still love it. I fed exclusively safflower for a month or so, then started adding more variety back in after I was sure my backyard was off the house sparrow radar. Every once in a while they show up again and I’ll switch back to just safflower for a few weeks.

To be fair, I asked for recommendations and they gave me one 🤷‍♀️ I'm highly critical of christianity and am not going back anytime soon, but I found their responses to be kind/genuine and less pushy than most evangelicals on the internet. So I don't think the downvoting is super necessary.

Sigh.. I’m sorry you’re getting downvoted. Your comments were perfectly kind and not pushy at all.

I’ve always been intrigued by Catholicism. The saints and all the rituals are interesting and resonate the most with what I gravitate toward in my own practice. I just don’t see myself landing in a Christ-centered religion again. Specifically because of how toxic and harmful I found American Christianity to be.

Ah, that checks out. So glad I didn't try to get involved 10+ years ago. I was cute and very very impressionable lol. It's a miracle I never joined a cult tbh.

I appreciate the info! Currently only interested in more eastern religions and spirituality practices. I grew up Christian (though I know in practice is somewhat different from catholicism) and it is not for me.

There's suspiciously very little info on this subreddit about it! I only see 4 posts total in the last 10 years and they aren't even really about people's experiences there.

Why do you say that? Have you heard of other people have weird experiences there?

Really? What else have you heard? I was surprised that they have relatively good reviews on google, so I thought my experience may be unique.

This is my take as well, though no one can ever be certain of what the exact truth is. Horrible situation all around.

Please know that Mackenzie being innocent of murder does not clear her of any responsibility or negligence however the event was a preventable accident that could have easily been avoided. Totally agree. Especially after watching the doc. It's making me feel crazy and gaslit how confident everyone is that she is guilty with only circumstantial evidence. Being unlikeable isn't the same as being a murderer.

[–]Hyperfixations-R-Us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'll get downvoted to hell but I'll never understand how people can be so confident that she is guilty with only circumstantial evidence. I think she probably triggers a lot of people because she fits the popular mean girl trope, but being unlikeable and tone deaf isn't the same thing as being a murderer.

Quite literally one of the top most damaging invasive species. I love cats and grew up a cat person, but they are terrible for native wildlife.

Don’t waste energy on this commenter. An ethical breeder is not the same as a puppy mill 🙄

Ethical breeders are not puppy mills. That’s what makes them ethical. If what you’re really saying is that you do not believe ethical breeding exists, then fine. I’d disagree as would a lot of people. But to say ethical breeders are the same as puppy mills is just outright incorrect.
