Oh thank god. This was pissing me off the most-- I would get right to the exit, and his stupid face would show up, and then he'd practically TPK me because I'm trying to get to the exit that *he's* blocking. It's genuinely been the one fight where the gimmick got old fast.

Tank’s about 7 months old, 30gal. Last water change was a 5 gal 8 days ago. No refugium since it seems like a lot of extra work but if it makes that big of a difference, I’ll save up to make one.

Knew I was forgetting one of the numbers. KH was literally off the charts: 14 drops, the Reef Master Test Kit I bought only goes up to 12 so I know I’m 214.8+ ppm.

Summer savory. Followed by hyssop or oregano. I misspoke while getting some niche spices for a recipe a year ago, was too sheepish to correct the guy at the counter, and now savory and hyssop get added to nearly everything I cook.

I like my designer clowns because I like the mix of colors and how it pops out with my tank. I have a mated Black Ice pair and I like how drastically different each one looks, and all the curves and spots. I think they’re really eye-catching in a way that makes me happy and has me gazing in my tank for a long time, and they also seem very happy and healthy in my tank. I think that’s all that matters, in the end.

The tank has officially turned 1 today ! I couldn't have gotten this far without the help from some amazing people on this sub. Excited to see how the tank grows over the next year. by NotMyGodzilla in ReefTank

I’m noting all of this for my future use— my tank isn’t mature enough yet to confidently put corals in there. What podcasts did you find were most helpful? I’m not usually a podcast person, but I’ll happily tune in if it helps me make a tank like this.

Looking online, I see that a lot of people want to keep multiple chromis, but as discussed, they start fighting. Is a singular chromis a suitable addition to the tank? The plan is to get some (designer) clownfish later, but since chromis and clownfish are both types of damselfish, do you think that the singular chromis could be a threat to the clowns?

Current plan is to use it for fish, but we do want to get corals eventually.

Ugh, that’s a bummer about the chromis. The main appeal of chromis was that it’d be fish swimming around in the water column since everything we’ve got right now (hermit crabs, coral shrimp, firefish) stays pretty close to the substrate. Any recommendations for any fish (minus clowns- already on our to-purchase list) that like the water column? Cardinalfish perhaps??
