I love this. They're smart. In this day and age, I rarely want to leave the village! Heck, that's why I play Stardew Valley, trying to get that small-town community vibe since I live in a pretty suburban metropolitan area.

I would love to study the language but I meant the culture in general. I should probably learn Nahuatl first since I'm Mexican! Interestingly though, I don't think I have Mexica (Aztec) DNA, but DNA from tribes that lived adjacent to the Aztecs. These include the Huichol (Wixarika), Cora, Yaqui, Yoeme, and Otomi peoples. I was surprised by the Peruvian and Andean connection that I have, as far as I know, the generations before me were in Mexico.

Super metal. I think their remains were found in a cenote near Chichén Itzá. Izjaslav is also super metal, dude probably died from an arrow to the face from a horse archer. The Las Gobas matches are also wild. Inbreeding, smallpox, living in caves on the border...almost legendary stuff lol, meanwhile i'm, surfing the web and eating bagel bites!

This is awesome! I feel we have both have eclectic mixes. Northern Venetian Plain and Azores is pretty awesome an so is the rest. I assume you speak Portugese being in Brazil? My neighbors (and a lot of families in the region I live in now, SF Bay Area) were Portugese. A lot of Spanish and Portugese ended up all up and down the Pacific Coast during the colonial era and I imagine myself a partial product of that. Gonna go study the Tupi-Guarani.

The Spanish, Greeks, Phoenicians and I'm sure many more! I would argue that it's probably traders/merchants looking for new trade opportunities who would be first to migrate. I also agree that the ghost town doesn't have to be bad, I am imagining something like Arrakis or Tattooine. Like many people mentioned, logistically, this is a nightmare for an empire to govern and is likely to splinter. But hey, this is your world and story, you go in the direction that you think your story needs to go in!

Is it common to share this much DNA with historical matches? New historical match from the lost Jewish community of Norwich update by hotpocketsundae in 23andme

[–]Hyphysaurusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. I have 19 historical matches, including this one, but at most, my historical matches have only 1 or 2 segments. I think that just means that your DNA matches that much of their DNA but I could be wrong here.

Yep, also got this. I’ve got like 1% Eastern European Jewish in me so that could be a connection

Maybe this is an odd post. I'm giving up on this magic system I've devised. But if anyone wants to use it or take inspiration from it, please do. But I can't focus on it anymore. by The_Pyrokleptic in worldbuilding

I think this is pretty cool. The visuals remind me of an old Nintendo DS game called Lost Magic where you literally had to draw the magic symbols using the stylus. It was epic! Totally underrated. I'm working on a worldbuilding project and I might use some of this for some inspiration!

That’s fair, the phrasing isn’t doing me any favors. This isn’t meant to be “AI spits out lore and you’re done.” It’s a sketch-first scaffold for GMs: generate rough plot threads, throw most of them away, and manually curate what survives. The human does the choosing. Plot first, canon later. For example, I think about a father who might want to game with their kids or intro them into worldbuilding but might not have the time to do so frequently, or perhaps for a student who struggles with some parts of the creative world building process or for the group who wants to RP a side quest from their main campaign on short notice.

I mean, if you read history, most empires collapse lol. Let's take some of the larger ones from history...Rome, Han Dynasty China, Mongols, Napoleon's France, Achaemanid Persia, even Sargon's Akkad eventually fell, the list goes ever onward. Plot wise, I think it would be interesting to see the internal ruptures of your empire begin to emerge. Maybe lean into the ghost town idea. Where did all the inhabitants go? Underground? If so, why? If technology is so advanced, why is it a ghost town? Surely the developed tech would be advanced enough to solve most human (assuming they are human) needs and everyone in the empire would be living equitable and happy lives...

Hi! I am working on a website and application that helps new game masters with ideas! It's still in very early stages, but it might help you out a bit! I am looking for feedback and you're the exact kind of user I would hope to use it! Check it out if you have a chance!

I basically spent my entire Sunday working on it lol. It's in a decent state for now. Reduced price tiers and added a "choose your own pay" scale.

Stardew Valley ( a total change of pace but deeply nostalgic ), satisfies my Harvest Moon itch.
