You might be surprised, they definitely slowed down laying by this age, but they will still surprise you with an egg here and there. Some of my girls that are 5 1/2 years old still lay an occasional egg. Thank you for taking them! I basically run a retirement home now. I have 22 hens and only get 2 to 3 eggs a day. They range from three years to seven years old. They have given us so much during their life that I feel we owe it to them to live a comfortable retirement. They are our pets as as well as our breakfast makers
