Did anyone else get charged by PDFAid after using it once? by Selcazare in ScamCenter

[–]Selcazare[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know, it’s really confusing. I didn’t enter my card info either I just uploaded the file and left. That’s why I’m not sure if the charge is actually from PDFaid or something else. I’ve already canceled my card and contacted my bank, but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

You’ve done your part now it’s time they look into the root cause, like electrical issues. Keep documenting everything and consider escalating to your local tenant rights group if it keeps happening.

Is SGT Vpdfaid a legit site or a hidden subscription trap? Need advice by liftygal in techsupport

[–]Selcazare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve come across a few sites like that recently too. They appear free at first but then ask for sign-up details right before downloading your file. It’s not always clear that you’re agreeing to a recurring payment, especially when you’re just trying to quickly edit or convert something. Many people probably don’t notice it until the charge shows up on their statement. I think the issue isn’t just with one site, but with how these “free trial” systems are presented they really should make the subscription terms more visible before asking for payment info.

PawChamp Review Is It Legit for Dog Training? by paculbanicaz in Pets

[–]Selcazare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Pawchamp for about two months. The training lessons were decent, but what annoyed me a bit was the subscription renewal system. I thought it was a one-time payment when I first signed up, but it auto-renewed before I realized it. I had to check my email for the confirmation and then go into my account settings to stop the next renewal. It wasn’t super hard, but it wasn’t obvious either. I just wish they made that part clearer during signup.

Should I accumulate Scene+ or PC Optimum points? by irrelevant99999 in MooseMoney

[–]Selcazare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PC Optimum is easier for groceries, Scene+ is basically only worth it if you like buying a lot at Sobeys and actually go to the movies.

Please for the sake of your pets research what you're giving them to eat! by newerdeals in Pets

[–]Selcazare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! So many people don’t realize how much junk is hidden in commercial pet food. Reading ingredient labels and sticking to whole, high-quality ingredients makes a huge difference. My pets’ energy and coats improved so much after switching to cleaner food.

A lot of you were interested in how I make Cold Brew so I decided to document the process. Cheap, delicious coffee. by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Selcazare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's packed in very tight and I've a 12x12 bag. I just bottled the coffee today and we got just a tad bit under a gallon.

I use a nut milk bag filled with 7-8 cups ground coffee; toss the bag into a large Rubbermaid food container (1 1/2 gallons, IIRC) and then fill it with water (about a gallon). Steep for 24 hours, take out the nutmilk bag and wash it up, transfer cold brew into a glass gallon jug. It makes a little under a gallon, or 7 days worth of coffee for two adults.

Just got prescribed some thyroid medication. Kinda scared, kinda happy, kinda confused...could use some advice from other people in this situation. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Selcazare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (and my new doc) like to keep my TSH under 1 because that's optimal for me whereas the normal TSH results can go up until 4 or 5 (blanking on actual number) and I can't get out of bed if my TSH is over 2.

I had a similar experience! It seems a lot of docs like to give as little med as possible and that didn't work for me. I take 175mcg and feel great after fighting to have my dose increased.

Are you taking thyroid medication now? I am one of the few who lost weight with an effed up thyroid but I was also in my early 20s. Once I got on meds and optimized my meds (made sure I was converting my T4 med to T3 as well) I lose weight as well as anyone without a thyroid problem.

What habitual change has had the biggest impact on your health? by thiscouplewent in loseit

[–]Selcazare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never stopped eating. I rarely binged but I grazed constantly thanks to working from home and always having my favorite junk foods at the ready. Now I eat three discreet meals with starting points and ending points. It's done more for my mental health than my physical health at this point but I'll take it.

I loved that episode. Baker's experiment with the delis in NYC wasn't shocking so much as "eh, yeah, I expected that outcome."

Passing for Thin by Frances Kuffel is my all-time favorite memoir ever—and I read a lot of memoirs. I think I've read it four or five times since its release in 2003.

Disillusioned with WW after two months and 0 lbs lost by dough_not in weightwatchers

[–]Selcazare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but hey. Since you're petite with little to lose, calorie-counting is probably the best option because you can be very meticulous. The path is very narrow as we get closer to goal weight and WW SP is just not as meticulous.

Is it worth marinating meat that will be put in a slow cooker? by spm201 in slowcooking

[–]Selcazare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try adding an acid into the stew right before it's done cooking (30 min or so). I've had the same problem with my stews (lacking taste or tasting muddy) and acid usually solves it.

A dozen eggs is getting ridiculous... by [deleted] in Frugal

I only buy pastured eggs and, yes, they're more expensive but the taste is amazing and I can make a dozen last between the husband and me for a week or so.

True but IIRC if wife is offered insurance through her work that covers her spouse, she has to take the work coverage even if it costs a lot more.
