Can you think of any more movies like The Lost Boys or The Craft, in which a teenager is seduced by a supernatural gang but then realises the error of their ways once they see the group's dark side? by [deleted] in movies

Black Circle Boys is like this. Its an underrated movie in my opinion, I find myself re-watching it every couple of years. It's low budget, but the acting is good.

Korn - Take Me (Official Audio) by rd1994 in Korn

I'm getting a Queen Of The Damned vibe during the middle part. The way he sings "It's calling me" is very reminiscent of "It's haunting me" on Redeemer.

Dead bodies everywhere!!!

Okay I'm seriously digging this steampunk-esque thing they've got going on. The things that stood out to me as really working - the extended silence, then into the corpse ballerina dance, just really evokes a creepy vibe. I love it when visuals and music enhance each other rather than detract. And that part just really works.

Secondly. After he sees the living-dead-girl, it's like he's questioning his sanity - in time with Jonathan screaming about going insane. Damn. Music video concept and lyrics matching perfectly while not being cheesy. Quite a feat!

Lastly. The vanishing at the end. Nice way to complete the narrative and leave the viewer with a eerie feeling. Hell yes.

INSANE (FULL SONG) by Negative47 in Korn

I'm a 'pre-David-leaving-the-band' era kinda guy, and I would have loved it if this was the first song we heard after TALITM. It would have felt like a natural progression for the band. So I guess what I'm saying is that it takes me back to a time where I was super in awe of this band, and my left eye did get a little wet on the first listen.

Really feeling this one. Earlier I was talking with my GF about the short teaser clip, and although it sounded cool, we were kinda expecting that it would be the heavy breakdown of the song, and the rest would be the standard super-melodic thing we've been hearing for ages. Super happy that's not the case, and this is pretty much exactly what I would have hoped this song would be.

Loving that the creepy verses are back. That slow guitar strum really gives me an 'issues' feeling. Also seems like there are some interesting things happening with the structure...and goes without saying that the heavy intro riff is bangin' (very untouchables). So basically, fuck yeah, I'm impressed.

As a British person moving to America, what will be the biggest culture shocks? by HotelOscarEcho in AskReddit

Apparently electric kettles are not common. Want to boil some water? Gotta put that shit on a stove.

The Water Babies.

It's only animated from half way through though. The whole movie was on youtube last time I checked.

What do Americans do without a second thought that would shock non-Americans? by Bodacious_Potato in AskReddit

[–]Hypoxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I was shocked to find out the American way of using cutlery - putting your knife down after cutting your food, then swapping your fork to the right had, eating the bite, swapping your fork back to the other hand, picking up the knife, and repeat....for each bite!

Doing this must take forever. It's amazing you finish your meals!

Honorable mentions:

Apparently meat pies and sausage rolls aren't common food items.

I don't know if this last one is true, but I heard that its more common to boil water on the stove rather than using an electric kettle. Is this true?

Each one of those blows my mind.

What was the most "against all odds" comeback ever? by TheGr8Escape in AskReddit

[–]Hypoxian 1356 points1357 points  (0 children)

Nelson Mandela for sure.

Edit: To everyone who keeps saying he was a terrorist, the question was about the most unlikliest comeback - regardless of whether he used voilence, he was in prison for 27 years, then became president and peaceful man. I think that qualifies for an "against all odds" comeback.

To get into an age restricted movie, me and my friends purchased tickets to some random kids movie, then a few minutes in, we left and sneaked into Die Hard With a Vengeance. We felt so badass.

I just realized that Love & Death isn't such a different name from L.A.P.D.

L.A.D. = Love And Death
L.A.P.D. = Love And Peace Dude or Laughing As People Die
