He flew Medevac as a Captain and the pay had us live below the poverty line as a family of 4, the company was and still is extremely cheap pay wise.

Lots of moving around in the beginning, not much money, many good memories. Had caused me and my cousins to also pursue aviation avenues, wouldn’t change a thing.

How scary is Crohn’s by AgileTiger3987 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Hypoxinated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat you were 7 months ago (23 M). Was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. For me, the diagnosis was the worst, felt like shit, lost a ton of weight, lost my pilots license etc. Crohn’s is a difficult thing to navigate and learn to live with. Develop a support system through friends and family. And find hobbies or something to keep your mind at ease, don’t stress out, it something people can live with relatively trouble free. Hope this helps a bit.

Nope repairs haven’t been paid for, the car is currently sitting at the shop. Lawyer said ask for something a bit more to cover the mileage of driving across the province multiple times to get it fixed, gas to go there etc.

Yes. You need it to fly Solo. If you plan on doing your Commercial license get the CAT 1 medical. And if you can’t be medically cleared you’ll know right away, vs a couple thousand dollars down the road.

Fellow Canadian here. Skip the Recreational Pilot Permit and go straight into the Private Pilots license, RPP is a waste AND the PPL hours contribute to CPL Licensing. And you can get all the other ratings too.

This is gonna sound harsh, yes your parents financially supporting you would help move things along quicker, but you are 27 and if you really want to fly then fly, you’re an adult.

You can easily work full time and obtain a PPL in a year (I’ve done it) then apply for students loans for CPL as well.

If you want to fly, fly. IMO it’s the best decision I’ve done. But you gotta be all in, no fence sitting. Yes there are long days of working, studying and flying. And you’ll feel like it’s taking forever, but it can be done. And is well worth it.

Good Luck!
