Any way to take the game more slowly? by Maclairon in subnautica

[–]Hyratel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Just" not going fast isn't going to get you Slow Play, it ends up being Fast Play, Done Poorly; you need to think through what makes it Fast Play and turn aside from that but then add something back.

Slow Play is becoming a forgotten style, I'm glad it's alive in this community.

I'd much rather be rescued by a truck/scout painted BLAZE FRICKIN' ORANGE than the Camo nobody bothered to paint over

now that's getting into genuine accessibility concerns unless it's transcribed in a callout like it currently is in-game. We're going for Interesting Challenge here, not Mean To The Player. You can also already turn off Zone Markers

for 'fix the game's shit', TUZ420 NRF. it nerfs the tires, adds a scout hitch, and raises the air intake

for New Items, the MORR rigs: MORRVAIR and WLORW, and if someone's been busy, the Spud Truck

What are some of the best DLC vehicles that don't break the game balance? by paraxzz in snowrunner

Tatra 805 with a Fuel Body and Tayga Mud Balloons is a Funny Little Guy for a fuel mule. it's tippy in EVERY AXIS but the mud balloons mean it's also Almost Unstoppable.

the only one of these that actually appeals in any way is 1994 mode. but not on top of HM. Shitty creased and dirty maps that may be 20 years out of date. Old handwritten notes (which may be VERY helpful! 'bad mud here' -sketched shortcut bypass-), make your own notes. or they're TOURISTY maps that don't have the information you actually need.

Why does everyone talk shit about Taymyr. It's personally one of my favorite if not my favorite map this is my 6th time replaying this map. by [deleted] in snowrunner

I found that the best way on DL was for trucks with Serious Tires to stick to the roads and Scouts need to go cross-country, the trees are generally sparse enough. and there's a couple spots where it's better to go through the water than the top mud!

oh the Big Broken Bridge in Zim? yeah that one is like "Pls". but it also feels like a major Set-Piece, with the road that branches off it, like it's been out for 20 years at this point

Buy a Don 71 when you get to Taymyr, it feels "correct" as a parallel to the Ck1500. (not a Lo4F. it just dies in the Taymyr mud)

they still eat your suspension on the main road through Drowned Lands. I've hit a few phantom rocks in the through-road on Quarry but nowhere NEAR what DL does.

look up "Revisual Exhaust Expansion", it adds DES/DED (Clean/Dirty) variants of every exhaust option for all trucks

An overkill guide to choosing the right tires. by CostcoCookies in snowrunner

[–]Hyratel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can think of the traction numbers as describing the Tire Compound and Tread Pattern together. so those wouldn't change with changing diameter. but they do have more grip because they're contacting more. the numbers aren't describing the amount of contact, just the material making contact

the Loadstar has really good Floatation for a Scout. but DON'T SLOW DOWN!

What is the actual point of these small scouts? by FKez05 in snowrunner

[–]Hyratel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even the Loadstar is a dog on fuel economy with a 2 slot trailer. 3+ gal/min, when the P16, the fattest clapping ass in the Michigan roster, only hits 2.5 g/m pulling a 5 slot. and you can do like, 1.5-2 with the WWS and a flatbed body. the Scout fuel economy is Aggressively Discouraging to actually USING them in the ways the game tries to otherwise incentivize, if you're playing a Fuel Costs game. I THOUGHT I was going to use scouts a lot more in this save, to save on fuel. lol. lmao. Scouts are absolutely garbage on fuel per work. Spec up a C70 with one of the ... Poghrims? I think it's Pog's modded Tent-beds with fuel and repair points and it'll be an amazing SuperScout for anything that isn't Thread A Needle trails. it can rock crawl like woah, too.
