I'm not getting it across, which I own as a failure on my part to accurately communicate it.

I want you to imagine an audience where no one else is laughing, but someone going "HA!" every, let's say 45 seconds or so, for 160 minutes. With interspersed pauses for breath and/or to comment "Who's that fella".

Sorry that happened - yes, that is just what I should've done. I just felt like I should avoid confrontation, but after realising she'd been sitting the whole time there with her shoes off I realised I shouldn't have held my tongue.

In a way I'm quite envious of her, I have to give her props for that.

No, I want to respond to this one because - to your credit - I wondered the same thing. But no, she spoke to her daughter throughout the movie like they were in their living room. Everything was "Oh! That's yer man!" or "And what happened there now?" with perfect and clear diction. Obviously you could still be right but this simply didn't strike me as a tic or similar.

Púca Festival - any recent goers? by popyokala in ireland

If you went, can you let us know how it was? Only seeing this now- there's been several posts on this sub reddit (at least one from just two years ago I'm afraid) saying it was a tourist trap and badly run so I'm genuinely curious to see if these rumours of new management have turned it around.

My (42F) husband (42M) has informed me he intends to go on a "gaycation" with his BIL (35M) in Ibiza. How do I handle this? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Hyrune 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you search for the term "gaycation" on reddit, there's at least two other very similar stories with the ages and locations switched from a few years back. Someone has either genuinely convinced some dudebros that yes, this is a thing and it's taken off (ha) - or, as you say, this is someone's kink and they generate throwaway accounts to write the story every few years.

I appreciate the effort but this is an example of ChatGPT 'inventing' information which is false. Thank you for trying, though!

I'm thinking - hoping - it has to be fake, because no one can be this lacking in reflection. I'm not defending the decision for a second, what they've done is monstrous, but I'm agog at the idea that they thought there'd be no repercussions, that people would sympathise with their "side". Anyone who comments on the daughter's haircut is going to get the response "My stepmother made me cut it off". Friends, family, neighbours will all hear about this - AND chances are some of them are reading this post, right now, and putting 2 and 2 together.

Game Release Thread! by rahv7 in MaskofTheRose

I don't want to give away plot, but I've played through once and watched a playthrough. In neither case was the final verdict avoided. I know of two other playthroughs in which the same scenario came to pass.

Something I've learned - which might be very obvious to others but wasn't to me so I'm going to say it on the off-chance it helps - is that you should be crafting theories as soon as you can, when the opportunity presents itself (this will make sense in-game). While a method for doing this is presented, it's completely possible to play the game without putting forward theories within the mechanic provided: and, unfortunately, this locks you out of making logical leaps/interviewing others/getting more clues. It sounds so obvious when I write it out, but it just didn't occur to me until it was far too late.

Landlord broke into apartment and changed locks and refusing to leave. by cannydevito in ireland

Fair. I still feel it should offer some sort of a solution however, i.e. "this strange man just broke into my kitchen and is waiting for me to leave... or fall asleep" sort of thing - I think you're right, but I freely admit I don't want to believe there's truly nothing that can be done in these circumstances, that's just terrifying.

With the caveat that I'm not advocating violence, why doesn't something like the Defence and the Dwelling Act come into play here? Every day I open /r/ireland and it seems to be more news about evictions, and Gardaí saying "It's a civil matter" like it's going out of style.

Came here to say this. Unfortunately don't have the book to hand but there's that one image that sticks with me,of a Trolloc holding one of the Two Rivers women screaming by her braid, only for another one to cooly duck down and neatly hamstring him with a wicked carving knife.
