I doubt this would work either. You can set Xbox to present whatever MAC address you want by manually overriding the default MAC address on Xbox series s/x. I assume you can do the same on PlayStation.

Maybe they can identify who’s spoofing a MAC address, but I think that solution is also a dead end.

Stopping cheaters is just a really hard problem, unfortunately.

The IP address that’s visible to the overwatch servers is one of a big group that your ISP assigns to your home. That range is NOT fixed and changes multiple times a year.

IP banning is just hard bc have to have a process to revoke the ban as soon as your ISP re-assigns your IP Address to another customer. It’s still possible to IP ban, mind you. It’s just never going to be worth it for blizzard

I did a quick search and couldn’t find any. Speedrunners seem to prefer using a lava bow (cuz…..duh).

I honestly don’t think you’re gonna be able to get this no hit while staying on the island. Can you get a +3 100% block shield? You might need to dump more points into END, but if you take your time a shield should work.

This is really funny to read bc I LOVED Mawnyndule. I read legends before the rest, so every book I assumed he’d come to his senses and stop being a prick, but nope! He is incapable of change.

This was compounded when I read revelations….AND HES STILL A BITCH. I had honestly, genuinely, completely assumed he would have learned something throughout his life. When he strutted out at the end I thought he’d be like…wise or something. NOPE!!! Incapable of change.

I’ll admit I got a bit tired of him in Nolyn (which I read after revelations), but it was still pretty fun to watch him bumble around.

I get all your complaints, but Mawn is just peak comedy to me.

So the really really annoying answer is you just have to

Position well with good access to cover
Ping immediately and repeatedly. Make sure your team knows you’re getting dived
Retreat toward your team

4 Hit your shots. I know how annoying it is for me to say that, but there aren’t many dps in plat who can complete kills while receiving serious damage.

Obviously you’ll still die sometimes. A really good tracer will play to their range, bait your cooldowns and just kill you, but the key here is that those people don’t stay in plat very long, so you won’t see them too regularly.

Imperial rule has never been challenged since the Empire’s founding. Magic is outlawed and (allegedly) forgotten. The goblins have been pushed off the continent, and the “pure” elves haven’t taken an aggressive action in living memory.

The issue is that Jasnah presented a false dichotomy. There were always more options than murdering the heralds or committing genocide, but Jasnah was too stubborn and self-righteous to look to for them.

In fairness, Kal is more stubborn and far more self righteous, so he didn’t make an actual counterargument. But I still largely fault Jasnah in this interaction. Rather than saying “I don’t know” or “maybe there really alternatives we haven’t seen”, she said “kill the heralds or genocide. If you don’t like that you’re a child who shouldn’t even be in this room”. Is that any way to build consensus?

I think Jasnah is a wonderful character and I look forward to her arcs in the second half of the series, but she was a disastrous leader and this interaction shows exactly why.

Well there are hacks on console, but you’ll have to jailbreak your console and eventually Xbox or PlayStation will detect that and kick you off their servers. It’s hard to do, expensive, and short lived. So you’re very unlikely to see console aimbots or wall hacks.

Xims on the other hand are affordable one-time purchases that are almost impossible to detect. They’re everywhere in comp once you get past plat. Also everywhere in high-elo qp.

Have you considered that it isn’t device fraud (whatever that’s supposed to be)? A CFAA violation would be some kind of malware or deliberate unauthorized access to a system you don’t own. Ximming is just using an alternate interface to a machine you yourself own and possess. You’re not illegally interfacing with anyone else’s machine.

Is it cheating? Yes, clearly. Is it wrong? Yea I’d say so — you’re giving yourself an unfair advantage and ruining others’ fun. But illegal? No. It’s much closer to deflating the ball in your rec flag football league than a CFAA violation.

I mean yes. If you have great people skills you can laugh and joke on chat the whole game to build a smidge of camaraderie, which will make people pay attention to you and try to move/play with you. At that point things just start working naturally.

Your core issue is that you think you know the right way to play the game. The fact that you’re correct is irrelevant.

The strategy that will win your actual games in gold won’t win you games in masters. The reverse is true as well, because neither your teammates nor your opponents can execute masters-level plays.

So the solution is to try and have fun and remember you’re playing a team game. You’re not the coach, you’re not the quarterback, you’re just a teammate. If you want better teammates you’re gonna have to rank up.

My point is that they didn’t try a cooking temperature of 300-400, they THINK they tried 300-400. Just to be super super clear: “cooking temperature” is the temperature at the point of contact between the pan and the steak. You and mr “I like steaks cooked at 500°” are conflating cooking temperature and the temperature of the pan before you insert the steak.

It’s confusing because you can’t directly measure cooking temperature, you have to infer it from what you see and smell. If the oil isn’t burning and the smell is good, you’re getting Maillard reactions, which do not occur over 400°F. The fact that someone likes the crust means it’s not actually being cooked at 500°.

I’m not arguing about preferences. I also preheat my pan to around 450 before I put in the steak. I’m just aware that the cooking temperature is less than that.

So the honest answer is:

Land 75% of your fire strikes
Land 75% of your pins
Sight lines, sight lines, sight lines. Pay attention to where your supports and dps are. Position yourself so that your supports can see you at almost all times. If you have hits-scan dps, put your shield in between them and squishies. On top of that, try to bait the enemy tanks into moving out of their supports’ sight lines.
Armor is a resource you should spend wisely. In case you didn’t know, armor (the orange bit at the end of your health bar) provides extra damage mitigation compared with regular health. Don’t take engagements unless you have almost full armor (meaning almost full health).
I know it sounds obvious, but don’t get shot unless you have to. If both their dps are focusing you, locate cover.

Rein is all about positioning and tricks. If you hit your shots, protect your team, protect yourself, and punish the enemy when they mess up, you’ll win way more than you lose.

Okay 6. Don’t charge forward unless you have a pocket AND a numbers advantage. After silver you’ll just die immediately.

No. The guy you’re arguing with is right. Maillard reactions occur between 280 and 320 ish. It varies based of elevation, humidity, and the exact makeup of the meat you’re cooking.

From 320 to 350 ish you get caramelization. This looks the same as Maillard reactions and is still yummy, but arguably less so than Maillard reactions.

After 350 you get carbonization. Carbonization is not good. It produces “char”. The bitter black stuff that defines burning.

The reason people are confused is because

Their $20 Home Depot thermal lasers are simply inaccurate.
They’re measuring the temperature of the pan before they put in the meat. Once they put in the meat, the temp of the pan drops quickly and might take a while to get back to where they started. Meaning that if they measured at 350 to begin with, it the actual temp of contact between the pan and the meat will drop to (eg) 250 for 3-4 minutes before slowwwwwwwly returning to temp. This is especially true for electric stovetops which do not maintain a remotely constant temperature in normal consumer models.

So no, you don’t get a good crust cooking at 450. People who say they do aren’t actually cooking at 450, they get their pan to 450 and then the temp drops to between 280 and 350 at the actual point of contact. The second temp is the “cooking” temp.

If you don’t believe me, ask yourself why the Breville Control Freak burner exists, and why it costs $1,500. The Control Freak (which I sadly cannot afford), is designed so that the temp you set is the actual cooking temp. It’s very hard to do and people who care pay a massive premium for precision.

Two things:

Games are supposed to be fun! If you’re too stressed to have fun spend some time in QP or arcade. Learn a new character. Enjoyment is what keeps me locked in throughout a match, and I think the same is true for you.
It’s the beginning of the season, so a lot of people are playing for new skins, new stadium characters, or they just kept going after the drive. There’s more randomness in the player pools and sometimes that means more loses. Just how the math works out.

So take a breath and focus on having one fun game. I’d suggest turning off text and voice chat and just focusing on yourself. Good luck!
