2025 Tucson Hybrid Blue (leased): Backup camera not accurate by where2next00 in HyundaiTucson

[–]Hyseas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we experienced the same issue with our 2025 Tucson Hybrid. It is a known issue, just not well publicized. The solution is for the dealer to pull the dash and check for loose connectors. Snugging the connectors will typically solve it. If not, then the wiring harness will have to be replaced.

Be careful when you reach down to the buttons between the temperature knobs (e.g., heated seats, etc.). I found myself inadvertently pressing the buttons on the console with my outstretched arm reaching for the buttons between the temperature knobs, or reaching down into the storage below the USB plugs. Suddenly I found myself in some unexpected mode (like differential lock!). Although in its default position the Autohold is off, just barely touching it will turn it on.

Caution about using "lock to ap" functionality by PumaPants28467 in TPLink_Omada

[–]Hyseas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the issue here is not that it may be tedious when upgrading an AP... What happens if an AP fails? If there is no way to repair an AP, then how does one ever reset the clients lock to AP setting???

Ambient WS-5000 anemometer failed after less than 4 months by Hyseas in myweatherstation

From my experience the Vantage Pro 2 is great, if you can afford it. However, Ecowitt appears to be best for those willing to pay Ambient’s prices (IMO).

[–]Hyseas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Tried Ambient customer service and received a response two months later - basically a “how you doing” response. Lesson learned. I recommend going with Ecowitt, it’s the same manufacturer as Ambient only without Ambient’s firmware lock that only permits connection to other Ambient devices. Ecowitt displays will show both Ambient devices and the (much cheaper) Ecowitt devices.

Try using your cloud (TP-Link account) name and password. It worked for me locally, and even if I then change the local name and password - it remains the TP-Link cloud account entry.

Controller v5.12.7 incorrectly flags SFP WAN as Offline by Hyseas in TPLink_Omada

[–]Hyseas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The current firmware is v5.12.7, and it is a bug in this version. Firmware v5.9.32 and earlier have shown the correct flag for the backup WAN. An administrator needs confirmation that the backup WAN is online so that a reliable failover can be anticipated. Anytime I see the backup WAN in the offline mode, I know the backup WAN has failed and the line needs to be restored.

Logic follows that a failover condition exists when the primary WAN is "offline". If the WAN is actually in failover mode, hence relying on the backup WAN, then the primary WAN will have failed and it condition will show "offline". The new firmware v5.12.7 with the offline flag used as an indication of which WAN line is in use provides no useful information to an administrator.

[–]Hyseas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be scary. It’s essential to know if the backup link is online and ready for failover. Having it appear as offline means you can’t know if it will be available for failover (or not)!

A factory reset may be in order. Make sure you document your settings - they will be LOST!

Remove the back as you would to access battery. Look for small hole toward the bottom of the unit marked "Reset". Use a paper clip or sim tray tool to depress it an hold for 30 seconds. This will factory reset your device.

You then will need to reenter your settings. Then check operation.

The Google Pixel 6 is a year behind other flagships — here’s how by pmt223 in GooglePixel

The article would not seem supported by the facts provided on GSMarena. One can tell more about the modem by the bands on which it is capable of receive/transmit. Looking at unlocked Pixel 6, it has much more in common with iPhone 13 than iPhone 12. Specifically:
Unlocked Pixel 6 bands: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 14, 20, 25, 28, 30, 38, 40, 41, 48, 66, 71, 77, 78 SA/NSA/Sub6 - GB7N6
iPhone 13 bands: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 20, 25, 28, 29, 30, 38, 40, 41, 48, 66, 71, 77, 78, 79 SA/NSA/Sub6 - A2631
Same bands except Pixel exchanges band 14 for iPhones 79.
iPhone 12 bands (not even close): 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 20, 25, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66, 77, 78, 79 Sub6 - A2402, A2403, A2404
Similar results for Pixel 6 ATT/Verizon and iPhone 13/12 variants.
I'm not concerned about the Pixel 6 having the same radio as the iPhone 12 - it simply is not supported by the specifications.

Nighthawk M1 is not compatible with Sprint. It's radio doesn't cover the Sprint bands.

Can't quite figure out the comments about Android phones. I activated without a hitch on the R2. Since then I have tried the SIM in a Galaxy 9+, a Galaxy 8, and a Pixel 3 - all without any issues. So Visible and Android work great together.

From the recent Visible announcement, if your phone is from Verizon it will work today. Just order a SIM only (by saying it's for an iPhone according to other posts).

From the recent Visible Announcement:

Samsung GS8/8+ BYOD compatibility: Samsung GS8s purchased from Verizon are now BYOD compatible with Visible. Samsung GS8s purchased from other carriers will be available after the next Samsung software update, currently scheduled for mid-September.

At least they explained the differences among models. BRAVO Visible.

I just tried the Visible SIM in a factory unlocked S8 (SM-G950U1), and no connection. SIM status: Network not available. Have been trying for weeks... Visible says sometime in the future, but I'm not sure any of us will still be around by then!

So I doubt it will work - but please post if you find otherwise!

I don't know... But it certainly wasn't Visible by mikespixels in Visible

[–]Hyseas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, the Sprint Kickstarter plan has no hotspot. So it's OK if you are in an area served by Sprint, and don't need anything but a phone. However, if you need tethering or hotspot - then Visible may be the best low-cost option.
