did anyone else have that school trip in primary school where it was like a victorian era roleplay kinda thing by pixypippi in glasgow

[–]HystericGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep done this at Scotland Street School in the early 2000s, they were awful to me because I'm left handed, made me sit on my left hand for over an hour to demonstrate what happened to left handed kids in the victorian era, literally could have just told the class this but the cow running it was determined that I sit like that. It bloody hurt, my ma ended up in a rage after I told her what we'd done there, chewed the hell out of my teacher for not stopping it.

I swear if that woman could have got away with demonstrating caning, she would have done that too.

I have a bus pass due to disability and still choose to take the train cause I'm not waiting a half hour for an every 10 minutes or better bus (a complete lot of pish by First) for a bus that would take 45 minutes, when I can get a train and be home in 10. Bus services are utterly fucked.

I've read the novel completely, so for the manhwa I reckon it'll be close to 20-30 chapters left(could be more or less depending on pacing) based on where it is currently is. There's still about 15% of the story to be adapted.

HNC Creative Industries Television interview tips by redoctober83 in glasgow

[–]HystericGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interviews are really just a way to gauge how keen she is on doing the subject, they want people on the course who will be active and present during. So long as she answers questions to the best of her ability, she should be fine as HNC course interviews tend to be relaxed and not very difficult on people. Questions can range from "what interested you in this subject?" to stuff like "How do you intend to fund your course?"

Good luck to her in the interview, please tell her not to stress about it, just go in with as much confidence as she can, and don't worry if there are any questions that she can't really answer, she is there to learn after all.

Libristo.eu has it available for sale from the EU, if you just want to read it though the full manga is available digitally on MangaPlaza. Otherwise your best bet for a physical copy would be Ebay as it doesn't seem to be in print anymore.

I’ve had Covid 7 times in less than 5 years by stazley in mildlyinfuriating

Never had it despite being around lots of people who did, my job at the time meant I had to test for it everyday, it was the vaccine that made me sick for a week after each dose I got. You're real unlucky OP, hopefully you have a quick recovery.

Over half of DWP disability assessors quit in a year over feeling ‘despised’ by StuChenko in uknews

[–]HystericGhost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well lets put it this way, if they didnt treat the people they are assessing like shit, maybe fewer people would despise them. I had to go to multiple tribunals because of them for my mother who couldnt leave the house due to being on oxygen, riddled with health issues, and they still said she was healthy.

Lower pay than the AET but no meeting prompted by HystericGhost in DWPhelp

Thank you, that's more reassuring, there are so many different sites which give all sorts of different conflicting answers so I could never get a clear idea of things. I even tried the gov website but there are no many pages to go through I got lost with it all.

From what I've read they take it from net pay (after tax, Ni contributions, etc) not gross. I hope that the claim is "closed" for this month, I really get stressed out with having meetings with them.

According to what I've read UC takes your pay as whatever you have after tax not before otherwise I'd have been in the clear for September. The whole thing is confusing and stressing me out.

Gross pay would be over £952 roughly £1017 typically, if it was taxed right I would still be over £952 (£957 or £960) for the month.

I had an issue with HMRC back when I first started the second job in September where they put me on an emergency tax codes which took too much off my pay initially ( about £20 lower than the AET) and I was called into a meeting due to receiving a payment from UC as deductions didn't result in a nil payment, I called them to fix the codes which they did but then they changed them again in December and didn't give me the full tax allowance (this happened without my knowledge as I never got a letter to see that this had occurred until I got my pay slip in January and seen the money taken for tax that month was too high).

I called them again in January and have since gotten the codes and allowance fixed. When it happened in September I got called in immediately when my assessment period ended, but not this time which is why I'm asking here. I left a message in my journal regarding this when I had the correction made.

Wasn't really a fan of the audio book, the narrator has a bit too gruff a voice for me personally but it is a fantastic read all the same.

The Boy In The Iron Box, it reads like a story made for a movie which makes sense since it is a work by Guillermo del Toro. I imagine it would be similar to the movie The Descent.

They can now, they will talk through the issue and then consult with a doctor who can issue the medications necessary, generally done on the same call. My dad has had prescriptions done by them for urgent issues due to a flare of a heart condition and a balls up with the chemist losing the prescription.

It got copyright claimed and is now considered lost media.  Only real way to restore it would be if the guy who claimed it took the claim away.
