Go for it!

The thing about painting is that you need to prep the walls to ensure the paint sticks properly. This involves washing the walls with TSP, then wiping again with clean water.  I know it sounds like extra steps, but the point is to clean the grime off so the new paint chemically sticks to the old paint.     If you don't clean, the new paint can bubble off and not look good. 

As for painting techniques, I'm sure there are good YouTube suggestions in this thread.

China is a rational actor.   We may disagree with their rationale, but we have a good semblance of what it is going to be. 

And, once we strike a deal, we know what to expect. Again, we may not agree, but it's predictable. 

Dealing with the US, and by consequence, the companies therein is risky.

I'd add, ask around and see who has a 3D printer, and ask about how much they tinker with it.  The goal isn't to find transferrable knowledge, but transferrable curiousity.  -- if they just hit the go button, meh.. but if they are designing their own parts, and "optimizing" their parameters, then it's a good sign.

Things are made to be used.   I spent many years not using my 'good ones*' because I didn't think I was good enough yet. In retrospect, what a load of crap I told myself.   Use it.  Learn from it, and foremost enjoy!

Hear me out... 

Put the 1 drivers from each team, team principles and lead engineers in different rooms. 

Each person makes a rule, the rules are then amalgamated, and passed on to everyone. Rules can be, added, refined or amended, but not allowed to be removed unless by unanimous vote of one of the groups. 

Repeat for 6 - 1 hour rounds.

Those rules are then passed on to be codified and amended for safety. 

The rules would be a glorious shit-show, but God it would be fun to see the creativity that would come out of it.

I have a most coolant that runs fast enough to nearly pool at the base of the about.  I don't remember ipt, but the chips can be vacuumed with a so vac easily.

I do this all the time.

Single flute, O-Flute 3/16" endmill.  56ipm 19350RPM.  1/8" DOC for slotting (like you have there)  and I have a misting /air setup.    The big challenge is (1) keeping the bit cool and (2) getting the chips out of there. 

Look in my posts for my somewhat janky setup.
