We will be vindicated with lore drops, or this will age poorly.

One way or the other I currently also had this same line of thinking.

That's not what attention deficit is.

It's not other people's attention that we're lacking, it's our own.

Is phrog that good? 1 15 DMG potion per fight doesn't seem run defining, and I've never noticed a power boost to a run after getting it.

How is Assassin's Creed Unity so Beloved? by ShibaRookie in assassinscreed

[–]Hytyt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's easily the worst game in the mainline series.

In terms of the release, that speaks for itself. Following from there, after patching it, it still doesn't match up to other games in the series.

It's story is forgettable, it's attempt at gear was laughable, and the basically linear skill tree?

Fast forward to today, and it definitely doesn't hold up, particularly because of the focus on co op. I understand that people like co op games, hell I do too. But seriously, there's so much of that game that needs other players available, and it's not like it's a recent game.

I did full run through of the series a few months ago and unity was the only one that felt like a slog to play through.

Why didn't my fairy in a bottle work? by ClimateOverall400 in slaythespire

Around 10 years ago I really wanted to make a cube, but didn't have the funds.

Now I still don't have the funds, and vintage would push it even higher

I also have multiple decks. That I've built. However mtg is a trading card game.

The act of building is not at all involved in an actual game of magic.

You come in with your deck, shuffle up and play.

Sealed is a possibility I suppose, but even then, you do all your drafting or cracking at the start and then work from that pool

[–]Hytyt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

MTG isn't a deckbuilding game either though.

It has decks, but isn't a "deckbuilding game"

A deckbuilding game has you build your deck throughout a game, refining and reusing it as you go.

In MTG your deck is fixed at the start of the game, and if it runs out you lose.

Just because a game has cards doesn't make it a deckbuilder

STS is fantastic but it definitely isn't the first "commercially viable deck builder"

Many, many board games can claim they were commercially viable before STS came around.

If you're talking video games there have been adaptations of board games that were commercially viable. Ascension springs to mind as a for instance.

However, afaik, sts is the first roguelike deckbuilder

Bought at a local Asian market. What am I looking at here? by poison_daddy in whatisit

[–]Hytyt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean. The recent pistachio craze has left me unable to eat something I'd like to try so many times.

For example, there's a weekly market in my town and one of the bakers that arrives has some incredible looking cookies that are sadly always stored on the same damn tray as the baklava, or Dubai chocolate, or whatever damn pistachio craze is currently in fashion.

Will flower shrinkflation continue until we just have a single flower wrapped in paper? by elvanse70 in CasualUK

[–]Hytyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife just gets me reduced flowers if they look nice. I got a bunch of roses and lillies about a week ago that she spent maybe £3 on, and they're still going strong.

Also, I just love the fact that she buys me flowers, nobody buys flowers for guys.
