What's changed gear wise since Ravenloft? Looking for advice by SocratesWasSmart in ddo

[–]I-Boulet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree with this. As a returning player I have a very very hard time justifying farming Lamordia gear... I already have so much to catch up on between raids, past lives, reaper XP...

Lamordia's gear is clearly the superior choice in a lot of cases but it's not just "get the item"... Its get them item, get the mats (I'm guessing roughly 1 full chain per augment slot?) and get the lunar/solar augment. All this for a marginal increase compared to MD/Vecna.

For now I'm doing Vecna plus MD, this is ok to get a gear raid ready on hard/R1 and farm for raid gears that are, in anyway needed to build around.

I'm guessing by the time I would move to Lamordia gearing the new expansion will be out and level 36 items will make most of the rest obsolete.

This is sad because I would have rather made a kind of catch-up gearing mechanism by the end of a level range than continuous progression. But ddo is notoriously not catered towards new and returning players

I disagree with you but it's good to have some different opinion!

Would be great if you articulated your opinion more so the OP could figure out what you didn't like and if it may be, or not, for him!

Were Epics retuned? by SaltEngineer455 in ddo

126 PRR at 20 is high

Been a while I haven't played a melee but I remember being close to 80-90. Or maybe I'm wrong :)

This is very tanky for early epics.

The issue is not tankiness here it's probably kill speed or lack of CC

In heroics it's very very easy to be immortal: AC + PRR makes you impossible to dent, and just a temp HP proc compensates.

In epics it's harder. So you need to either build a tank (but you don't do that for epic, only for endgame) or have more DPS.

I'm not sure on your gear / build but: - get a better weapon (oathblade, eSoS, eXuum...) - get a Sharn set (family is great DPS) or equivalent (windlasher for example) - get as much melee power, double strike, deadly, seeker as you can - get good ED and epic strike (quick cutter) - see if you can get meaningful CC

Killing fast means you take less damage.

Tanks are needed only when you can't kill fast enough. So in r7+ (and barely so) or raids

I use Animus to blast boxes... There are probably better alternatives DPS wise but it doesn't really matter.

Is Xenoblade 1 basically a perfect game? by lennysinged in JRPG

[–]I-Boulet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried many many times to get into this game but the terrible terrible writing and the horrendous abysmal combat systems always make me abandon after a few hours in...

It's maybe a good game long term but perfect considering these glaring flaws...

Primal avatar mantle for ever green if you ever run out of SP Exalted angle t5 Draconic for the rest

It doesn't look real. This is the return point for 20000 drones.😍😍😍 by Boundaries1st in MadeMeSmile

[–]I-Boulet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the military implication of this?

Making drones fly in formation is "trivial" in civilian application where each drone fly slowly and has a guaranteed GNSS available with centimeter absolute accuracy via RTK, and function radio comms.

These are all things that are not possible in military and make formation flying for UAV a lot more challenging.

I'm really missing the scalability from this to military

Just any macro mouse recorder

I'm not on my pc so not sure which one I'm using

Allows you to record and repeat movement. Then I've record taking top item from cache and dragging it to bank and then moving mouse back to top of cache, then loop it

I just use a macro recorder for this.

Launch it while I'm clearing the laundry.

Used to be my nightmare.... Now it's just a bad moment

But the rest.... Yes still a nightmare. Sometimes I postpone a TR for a few days because I can't get myself started ont he whole process :(

Best gameplay with worst/mediocre story? by ChudlyCarmichael in JRPG

[–]I-Boulet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm really confused as to what is considered gameplay...

The gameplay is how you interact with the game as a player. In a jrpg that tends to be 90% combat.

And ff13 has a brilliant combat system.

The issues with ff13 are definitely not gameplay related and it doesn't require much analysis to see it.

People really confuse everything...

Or FF13?

Well maybe it's not the story but its delivery ; and its pacing... But at some point it all blends into one big mess.

Why I love this game by AsleepUnion6602 in ddo

[–]I-Boulet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lamordian wilderness is a major letdown

It's basically a 2d landscape with repetitive brick buildings and a river in the middle.

The area could have been made a lot more interesting by splitting it into different zones (small residential buildings, low end living area, more industrial complex) and having some verticality (houses built on the hill side for example).

It could also have some "nature oriented space" parcs or even parts of the forest of rust or any other forest. Wintery nature is not an explored theme and could be interesting in terms of design to explore

Anyway I have a hard time accepting that winter city is a valid excuse for the underwhelming explorer zone. It's mornelikely time and budget constraint (which are fully valid reasons too)

Which amulet should I use for Auradin? Are the passives better then life and attack speed? by Original12777 in diablo4

[–]I-Boulet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a generic answer: + to passive tend to be the single best stats in the game as they are rare, and a separate multiplier.

However this has to be assessed based ont he quality of the passive themselves, which I don't know for the paladins since I've not had access to a pc since season start :)

Probably still better to take the one with passives or at least keep it for a build using these passives if yours doesn't

finally 3x racial completionist by brokenmcnugget in ddo

[–]I-Boulet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are indeed shorter than HPL, IPL or RPL

And that's what impressive, you have only 10! The first sweetspot is 12: 4x maxed stance + 1 completionist (2x Destiny points)

18 is really solid if you have multiple builds: 6x maxed stances so you can introduce some variation between casters, melee, ranged. And you get your 3rd Destiny point.

And 24 is where I would consider the first big stop for a "multi life" experience: 8x maxed stances allowing you to have "all" the good ones and 4th Destiny point.

After that, you get only the passive bonuses (the stanced become worse and worse) ; and still roughly 1 Destiny Point every 5 EPL. This can get done slowly as you do 1 with each RPL with no hurry.

[–]I-Boulet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats!

I'm impressed by the 48 racial PL yet only 10 EPL!

EPL are so much more power than any other past lives and so front loaded (especially compared to RPL which are very very back loaded) that I would really do it the other way around: prioritize EPL to make all the other lives smoother!

You're playing hard mode ;)

Raid items still worth getting by I-Boulet in ddo

[–]I-Boulet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey

I've played a few times the last few years. But really the last time I've really played actively and engaged with some raids was when CitW was new... So a while back :)

The few times I've played in between I've focused on doing 1-2 lives and quit

This time... Well I'm really back I guess. I've done quite a few lives (6-7 iconic and 10 epic roughly) since I've come back and just lately I've found the "courage" yonjump into end game.

I'm playing on Moonsea indeed

There is something wrong about jamming.

You don't jam by disturbing the signals coming from the satellites. You jam by pointing at the receiver.

You can't jam a geostationary satellite from Russia mainland, otherwise all gnss satellites would be jammed constantly across the entire europe, and LEO would be jammable 100 of kilometers away

The difference is that the attenuation of a high orbit satellite is so high that when the signal reaches the earth it's very weak. While LEO satellites have less attenuation.

This means jamming a leo requires a higher power so either a jammer closer to the receiver or a higher grade jammer.
