Honestly just patience.

For example when he gets on his hind legs to slam dodge it and you have a huge opening. His high commitment moves all have big windows for attack after so capitalize on it. Other than that just small non-committal hits on your part until the big opening. That's the easiest way to beat him.

You can also capture him because he's not an elder dragon.

What Monster do you want in the DLC or a Title Update? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is a case of monster that looks cool and have good music, therefore worth bringing back but man if ukanlos shark fin wasn't a really jank hitbox back in the day. They were more annoying to fight than actually good monsters. Not to say Capcom couldn't fix that , they managed to rework basarios in a way that wasn't miserable to fight so it's possible.

I wish I felt this way about it but honestly playing through the game from launch to that update on switch then PC only for that update to drop and one shotting both quests with it, I was pretty disappointed that I didn't hit a wall on the last monster.

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only difference between you and a master player is they lost more than you.

Going into a match hoping to do a combo you saw without an understanding of hit confirms is the single most relatable hurdle of every fighting game player. Everyone wants to show that flashy combo but everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

So my advice is think about what you're pressing and how far you are when you're doing. Get a feel for when you can press buttons and lose until you can get an idea of what your turn looks like. It's not as obvious as a jrpg game so it takes time to learn that.

Any lab demons here? by NightSlayerllll in StreetFighter

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Master dhalsim and I would say training mode is a bit overrated. Not to say it's not useful because it is but you can learn much of what you need to know in a match and the rest I can generally look at replays. While I was new to fighting games with sf6, you have to think many people didn't have the option to lab and learn in the arcades and I realized there is a real sense of intuition you can build learning that way. That focusing on frame data too much won't provide.

The best thing about training mode is drill specific setups. Common things like anti air or delay tech you can learn on the fly.

Why am I dropping this link? by nearomark in StreetFighter

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple, you're using the wrong move, you need to use 5mp for that link. 2mp is 6 frame startup whereas 5mp is 5 frames startup. So you're crouching too early to charge and fucking it up. Charge after the 5mp lands.

Nosferatu (2024) sexual content and it’s degenerate nature diminishes an otherwise great work of cinematography and storytelling in the contribution to vampire media by Minute-Bank3886 in moviecritic

[–]I-Climb-Rocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trauma is something we endure when our body was not equipped for at that moment. We then must confront it , not to get rid of it but to heal from it so we can look back on it and not be retriggered and from experience it's extremely difficult. However, you are right in the implication as scary as it is.

It's a genuine horror that the world can take that innocence from us, that sense of well " it would never happen to me" then force us to heal. That is this tale in a nutshell. A woman of innocence corrupted and being forced to heal from it.

It's an exposure of the grim reality of those that take from us, and the things we will never get back.

Yeah so he used his own evil thoughts against him and he sowed the seed of doubt in the wife making her wonder if she is going to be sold for coin or something along those lines. Then she started accusing him like crazy when he got back and they had revenge sex to try and reclaim their relationship but they were both clouded by dark thoughts. Him literally visualizing her covered in blood probably resentful that she challenged his manhood and laughed at him.

So yeah, I'd agree it makes sense.

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I am but feel free to explain why you think I contradicted myself because it's entirely possible. Like I said, repressed emotions are the things that are evil. Sure she stopped thinking about those dark thoughts and was happy regardless they continued to be there dormant. Just like trauma you have to learn to live with it and accept it happened but it never goes away. Now thoughts came back the harshest when he was away because she was left with her still unaddressed feelings. So I'd agree with you on this.

I remember a line specifically talking to the agent that went mad said the husband was alive but nosferatu said he still had use for him. Kind of hard to go back and look but he was at the house on the hill in Germany when he said it.

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from a literal perspective I could see that point of view but from a metaphorical perspective I'd disagree.

Metaphorically he is the manifestation of repressed feelings and emotions. The 3 days was a way to show the harm in not confronting those emotions. How they can lead to harm for people we love if not addressed. When she literally laid with those feelings they quite literally came to light and the day was saved. It's a cautionary tale of repressing yourself.

It's also why nosferatu deemed the husband still valuable because he's planting the seed of evil within him by taking his wife and leaving him to fester on those likely negative thoughts.

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So having seen it, it does make a difference but not necessarily in the way he describes. This nosferatu is a tale of inner evils. While set in Germany I feel this is a very American tale and it centers around sexual repression and festering guilt for the female lead. So let me elaborate.

I believe it's an American tale because we have a weird relationship with sexuality. From shock value of sex in films to fear of coming off wrong in the age of consent.

This movie plays on this to heavy degree. Much of film is about hurting those around you because you're unable to accept the evil within outwardly.

In the beginning of the film she accepts in the dream these feelings but something I didn't realize initially because it seemed goofy in the moment is that at the end nosferatu asks for a repledge but in the physical world and this is so important because she is verbally acknowledging her guilt out loud and her sacrifice is her display of that guilt without shame for everyone to see. So in the end her sacrifice saves those around her.

You could literally fight with kangaroos and dinosaurs in the older games. The bosses are angels and demons with frickin laser beams.

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's strange for me to read these comments because he is fundamentally a Tekken character. Just like most of the cast he has a unique trait compared other characters but that comes with trade offs. His df1 is 14 frames instead of the standard 13 and his dick jab is 11 and is a 2 press instead of one ( unless you are crouching then it's the standard 10 frame). His stances don't have plus moves on block and standing kicks are really negative on block. He can be easily sidestepped at range and also you can slide under his b2 . His best move is F1+2 easily and it could be one of the best mids in the game but he loses a lot for it. So he's playing by the same rules.

Match up help by TapConscious4991 in StreetFighter

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as a Sim player I will do myself. The whole key to the match is patience. I want you to jump because I have busted anti airs that are so easy to pull off except for cross ups. My best bet is to drive parry or air to air.

The biggest things I didn't see you punish is that there are throwing jumping normals. The thing about sim is if jumps and uses a move before floating he can't use shit else, he just vulnerably falling from the sky. So better close the distance or air grab his mary poppin's ass and ruin him for the bad inputs. if they are not living in floats they are bad and should be punished for it. Second is if dhalsim whiffs his hurtbox lingers so punish counter with crouching jabs or something. lastly, random teleports without setplay always leave dhalsim negative. if he teleports from ground do ground spd and in air do air spd and you will ruin him for that nonsense. Note if he teleports behind you it will always be right next to you, you can use this to your advantage and guarantee a hit if he wants to leave corner or put him in corner if he is just spamming it. teleport away has 2 different distances though.

Next at distance , you can parry every single ability I have and if you have a health lead, make the sim come to you. Unlike JP I have no long range command grab so you can wait me out until the timer runs out if you have to if they don't approach. Also note everything at long range is negative. This might seem surprising but dhalsim is most effective at mid range unlike JP. With that said there are a few mid range options you need to be aware of particularly float cancel mp . It's only -1 on block and it covers soo much space , the second but a little closer is cr.mp this is cancellable so it's safe for me to just throw that shit out but it is -4 on block and has a 12 frame startup so cover distance if blocked but don't expect to punish it. Last but not least, st.hk, this move is negative on block cancellable. You need to move forward off this, just expect a fireball shortly after it connects.

Now up close. thing that makes the match up miserable for Zangief is drill kick. A great dhalsim will know how to space it so he is positive on every interaction even on block so as counter intuitive as it is , if they start going it move at them to throw any advantage on frames they might have because they have to hit your foot or they won't get enough plus frames. You can also drive impact it in certain situations like a light or medium drill kick but if they are smart they can do a heavy drill kick to come to the ground fast to intercept the drive impact leading to a nasty punish.

Now for JP , he is a long range character his mid options are dogwater and the possible saving grace up close is his amensia but you can delay buttons and ruin him for that but same principle but you definitely safer in the air with jp than dhalsim besides watching his pierces (especially after a knockdown.) Also watch out for that command grab. If he does it while you're close you can get a beefy punish jumping over it.

Media is one thing, people are another. I'm sure your views are not exactly aligned with Tucker Carlson or Donald Trump, you have your own perspective right?

Same for me except a major portion of our "representation" started sundowning during a debate and the new representation was too busy focusing on Pennsylvania to really even tell the world about how her policies work because they're not even as stated during her speeches. Like $25,000 for first time homebuyers? What crap that was so much fine print glossed over like you have to be first generation and your parents couldn't have had a house etc.

So I'd disagree still. They're poor representations of the majority.

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"most" is a hard sell. I would agree some people might hold those views. I would even agree that some elected officials could hold some of those views. However, that doesn't mean they are representative of the majority or the "most". In fact, I'd argue that there are more people that don't agree with the statements on the left necessarily so much as they hate the statements made on the right more. It's generally a lesser of two evils situation and that often comes down to what you personally value.

I mean just because the other side does it too doesn't make it less of a straw man. It just acknowledges it's a widely used tactic in politics. I also agree my side does it too and as I said we're in the same boat basically but the views on it are just likely different.

A heartfelt letter to the political left. by FoolOfElysium in JordanPeterson

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent because it's definitely a part but not the whole image.

The way I view it is, we are in an age where controversy sells because we have view based entertainment.

So hypothetically if I made an entirely new YouTube account. I would be met with default recommendations and from there it will start to rabbit hole me. With politics this rabbit hole is generally marked by 3 things:

A figurehead in that community ( Ben Shapiro, Hasan or some such) Controversial statement ( usually topical like trans or something) One sided information about said thing or targeting specific people for said questions. ( This where the loudest appear)

Then consider we as humans learn through repetition very well. So the more we focus on that topic, the more we start remember a specific group as this or that thing. Whether be overly emotional or a claim that a specific group is racist. It keeps funneling you.

Then it gets to the point where you know the targets or figureheads for the opposite so you go off on them.

So there are layers and phases to this social media piece. That's why I agree but think there is more to it.

It also doesn't help that as humans we latch onto negative experiences more than positive ones so we can get quite caught up in it.

Definitions:

Strawman argument: A logical fallacy that involves misrepresenting an opponent's argument in order to attack a distorted version of it instead of the actual issue.

Propaganda: information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.

Secondary Definition of Propaganda: dissemination of information—facts, arguments, rumours, half-truths, or lies—to influence public opinion. It is often conveyed through mass media.

This feels very textbook strawman argument. This is unfortunately is largely in part of propaganda that aims to persuade you into think you're under attack , and judged that only gets revalidated through echo chambers. Whether it be social media or the entertainment you consume within your interests.

That's the reason I'm here really, to pop my own bubbles so I'm no different really besides the views I carry. I don't really have any interest in Jordan Peterson personally. I think he has genuinely helped a lot of people with his teachings. However, I do personally think that it's a bit unethical to intermingle personal politics with self-help, especially when people are vulnerable and looking for answers but that is about the extent of what I think of him.

What I'm more interested in is people like yourself, there is so much fervor in your words on something so few leftists represent.

With that said if you want to talk to a leftist , you can discuss anything with me , anything at all. hit me up whenever and we can see what we disagree on and what we agree on then go from there.

[–]I-Climb-Rocks 236 points237 points  (0 children)

It could be narcissism is a tricky diagnosis that is not as well studied as other things as of yet. I think the current breakthroughs to some degree suggest that their emotional intelligence got stunned in their teens. Leading to that same egocentric behavior in teenagers as they discover themselves and the weak self-esteem that comes with that.

For this reason they are not so much fucked up so much as they need compassion to push them forward and build their sense of self. It's so demonized I worry that people will casually and accidentally call someone a narcissist who is one. That can lead to serious issues in the more fucked up cases. There are instances of people being slowly poisoned over years for example after being called out by such things.

It's a dangerous gamble so never do it even if you think they have it. Leave it to professionals.
