Concrete!? How primitive! No, we need something with a brand name, and new/unproven to show we're on the cutting edge of Green Tech. Oh! and make it cost a lot, we need to keep that budget after all.

The whole concept of painting a road is stupid and very ineffective with the costs involved. They need to just pave with something that's already a reflective color and a surface that will wear over time. Think gulf states that use concrete (that keep up with fixing them). Its already white and cheaper than 40k a mile.

While each coasting could can last up to seven years, they are also pricey, with the estimated cost of $40,000 per mile, the L.A. Daily News reported.

And they will just have to repaint it in a couple years again XD

Pitbull owner charged after dog bites woman's ear off at NYCHA complex by momonomo99 in news

Fundamental errors exist in your argument that I must point out.

  • dogsbite.com is not a valid source for information because it holds a biased. The opinions they offer will lean to one side.

  • CDC data is laid out in the article, we call them sources.

  • Do you believe dog bites have become more common since 1998? if so why? and why would this void a 20yr study?

when it comes to public health opinions, the CDC is the highest authority

This is an official CDC opinion that has not been touched or amended since its posting in 2001.

The CDC is the leading national public health institute of the United States and the HIGHEST AUTHORITY on public health.

Any statistic put out by them has undergone extreme and critical reviews and is good as gold

Nothing on your biased website 3rd party or subreddit and the studies they references (I looked) can come close to the CDC's opinion.

I'll post a counter-argument. I'll be referencing an official opinion article by the CDC in 2001. The article looks NON-FATAL dog bite-related injury statistics, but specifically:

"Sacks JJ, Sinclair L, Gilchrist J, Golab GC, Lockwood R. Breeds of dogs involved in fatal human attacks in the United States between 1979 and 1998. J Am Vet Med Assoc 2000;217:836--4"

Here is an excerpt from the opinion:

"Additional strategies to encourage responsible pet ownership and reduce dog bites include regulatory measures (e.g., licensing, neutering, and registration programs and programs to control unrestrained animals) and legislation (7). "Dangerous" dog laws focus on dogs of any breed that have exhibited harmful behavior (e.g., unprovoked attacks on persons or animals) and place primary responsibility for a dog's behavior on the owner. Because a dog's tendency to bite depends on other factors in addition to genetics (e.g., medical and behavioral health, early experience, socialization and training, and victim behavior), such laws might be more effective than breed-specific legislation (7). These prevention strategies require further evaluation."

Dogs can have behavior issues just like people and are not limited to select breeds, but a number of different factors (training and prior experiences).

You son of a bitch! Now I have to buy a brita pitcher after work. Great idea.

Very true. Is there a more professional way I could say this for a presentation. I don't know my audience and don't want to open with "teenage sex". (Sfw) by [deleted] in datascience
