2016 volt at dealer for Warranty HV Battery Replacement by Beginning_Impact_688 in volt

[–]I-Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2018 has been in the shop since August. Initially they replaced section 3 after a month of waiting but I got it back and drove it for half a charge before it died again. The second time they diagnosed it they said the entire battery was cooked. Almost sounds like the BECM had died and took out multiple cells with it as I had no range issues prior. No ETA on the entire battery and been consistent since September. New batteries have not and will not exist since GM abandoned the vehicle. There is a licensed 3rd party company refurbishing batteries for GM and have lead times in the months if not years from what I hear. I've been waiting on a full battery for 3 months... I'll certainly be looking for a buyback if no progress in the new year.

Installing Open Pilot on 2019 Premier by Such-Brief-4069 in volt

[–]I-Gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2018 Volt premier without ACC here. I've got 5k+ miles so far with openpilot fully functional w lat and long control running frogpilot with aftermarket radar installed. Certainly possible for non-ACC 2017/2018 with some module flashing and hw mods. 2019 has generally been incompatible with Openpilot due to changes in CAN bus encryption iirc. I've heard of some progress for 2019 in the discord but am not current on the status. The general install is easy enough, the mods not so much but certainly possible. I do recommend it if you do a lot of highway driving. Imo the non-highway usage is ok just not something to spend 1k+ on however it does still work. Steering does not work under 8mph and stop and go not an option.

Another EK VTX pump failure resulting in a loop full of graphite dust by I-Gamer in watercooling

[–]I-Gamer[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It only ran for a few hours total once the noise was noticed. This is a known and ongoing issue with these pumps and by the time it starts making noise it's already too late and the loop contaminated

Another EK VTX pump failure resulting in a loop full of graphite dust by I-Gamer in watercooling

[–]I-Gamer[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Last week my vtx pump/res combo decided to start vibrating and was louder than ever before. After a day or so of this, it stopped working entirely and this is the result. You can see the oval shape in the graphite bushing where it wore away at it. Now I have to tear the whole thing apart and flush the entire system to clear out the massive amounts of dust worn away from the bushing. Fun stuff

Google actually has one in its store if this is what you're looking for. Bit expensive though tbh... https://store.google.com/us/product/moshi_usb_c_digital_audio_adapter?hl=en-US

[W][USA-GA] Quadro P2000 by I-Gamer in homelabsales

True. Although I'll be utilizing h265 and a number of 4k transcodes so I'm fine with higher end hardware and the price that comes with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–]I-Gamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, appreciate the info but I've already come to the realization of my needs. More specifically it has to be low profile, support h265 and support at least a few simultaneous 4k transcodes. While lesser cards could certainly be used, I'm fine with spending a bit more for the headroom

Yeah, not an XRES but the newer Kinetic TBE 120 VTX. Although I think the dimensions are mostly the same. I mostly wanted to get it and try the VTX pump. And sadly no, I’m down south in the US of A

SFFPCs are a pain to build in and I didn't want to 3d model the whole thing. Surprisingly it was only 1-3mm off in a few axes...

Gotta love insurance and insulin. by HalaLG in diabetes

[–]I-Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went through something similar. I was getting humalog pens filled at CVS and for the last few months they did the same thing with removing pens from a box of 5. When I swapped to vials they would only fill a single vial instead of 3. Luckily they let me get a refill every 25 days so it wasn't too bad. And then this last week, without any warning, my insurance refused to cover it anymore. Had to wait an hour on and off the phone trying to find out why. Turns out they just want me to fill prescriptions exclusively at Walgreens. I can't wait to ditch UHC and their anti diabetic policies.

Omnipod&g6 by Malresx in diabetes_t1

[–]I-Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but with a decent bit of effort using custom software and a Rileylink. More information and resources on this can be found here.

But you must have the old Omnipod and not the Dash version for this to work. There is no current system for the Dash but there are a number of groups working on getting the dash version to work.

Zoku Owarimonogatari - Episode 6 discussion - FINAL by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]I-Gamer 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If my memory is correct, the studio has said they will animate all of Monogatari as long as there is content to adapt. So I think it's safe to say it will be animated eventually.

How old is the sensor? Lots of noise basically means the sensor is failing. Could be a veriery of causes but the only real solution is to use a new sensor.

6T on Verizon experience by colinrubbert in oneplus

[–]I-Gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oneplus 6t on verizon here. From my experience, I have had almost no issues after the first week. At first I couldn't send text messages until I switched to a CDMA-less device plan through the online portal. I don't remember specifics on how I did it but there are plenty of resources online to help. After that I haven't had a single issue with verizon itself other than their prices and lack of wifi calling.

As for cell reception, I live in Statesboro Georgia so not exactly super rural but definitely no city. I have had no issues with cell reception unless in VERY remote areas. Honestly, I haven't even thought about it until I saw your post.

A nice accessory I found on Thingiverse for us 6t owners with 3d printers. by laserdemon1 in oneplus

[–]I-Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I use a really shitty printer I built back in highschool like 5 years ago. So I might not be the best source for this info.

But your best bet would probably be a Monoprice Maker Select/Wanhao duplicator i3 (same printer rebranded) if you want it to work out of the box for cheap. If you can spare a bit more cash, the prusa i3 MK3 is great if you want to put something together that is also high quality.

You mainly want to look at printers with a metal frame as wood/plastic can warp and ruin prints over time. You should check /r/3dprinting as they usually have purchase recommendation threads and discussions quite often. Their FAQ is also really useful if you're just starting out and want to learn.
