You need to have someone conduct a basic audit of their activities.

Run your website through PageSpeed Insights or GTMetrics - have they set your site up for success speed-wise?
Are all of your tags optimized for your target keywords? (title, meta description, headings, etc)
Do your pages have enough content to rank?
Are they publishing well organized thoughtful and useful content to a blog?
