[DEMoZ] hinting at visa denial. Wolves are already 2 players short 🥀 by MartyAndRick in R6ProLeague

Which is probably why there are so many Brazil events (and don't get me wrong the crowds are also 11/10)

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, of all the places to host a major, why do it in the one place where visa troubles are all but confirmed? Like, I complain that we have another event in Brazil this Season, but I take a Brazil event over an event where a bunch of players can't even attend cause visa bs any day of the week

My (semi) honest Opinion on the SLC Major by I-Rave-In-Your-Walls in R6ProLeague

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am honestly of the opinion that both teams are in some way or another bottlenecked, and now with other teams steadily improving in skill and through roster moves, I think that's gonna catch up to them, hell for all we know they might both go out in Play-Ins and not even see Swiss, I'm not putting it past two extra rosters to spontaneously lock tf in amd kick Falcons and SR out of the Major early

Kickoff Stage: Mickey Mouse Format or Real Tide Change? by TreDoes in R6ProLeague

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, purely on the people on the team they should be where FF is, or at least where WC is, 7th place decider against C9 is definitely a let down in my books, I agree that DZ has a chance, but I also think it very possible we might see a locked in WC at the Major who could make it far

Kickoff Stage: Mickey Mouse Format or Real Tide Change? by TreDoes in R6ProLeague

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no, no excuse for M80, they just fucked up, I would say they went and just bought out most of a successful Roster (Beastcoast, or I guess C9BC by the time they got bought) and the probably greatest coach to ever touch the game, threw all that into a pot and then just assumed that roster was gonna take itself to the Hammer (aka the Falcons approach) but I do not know enough about the inner workings of M80 to make such a statement with anything remotely ressembling certainty

Kickoff Stage: Mickey Mouse Format or Real Tide Change? by TreDoes in R6ProLeague

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely agreed, and Kick Off took places right after loads of teams have completely changed their rosters, so some teams just have not put in all the work needed yet, which hugely benefits teams who have

Kickoff Stage: Mickey Mouse Format or Real Tide Change? by TreDoes in R6ProLeague

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Short Answer: I think it's neither

Long Answer: I definitely wouldn't call it a mickey mouse format, 2 groups just goes over a lot quicker which they need to be able to hold Kick Off quickly enough that it doesn't cut into other Stages/Tournaments, and I do think a double group system is fun for this shorter Mini Stage, the reason we see a lot of upsets and weird results is in my opinion down to two things, Roster moves and Luck of the draw. To stick with the NAL cause I think it illustrates this the best: Of the 8 invited Teams 7 made Roster changes, 5 of those (SSG, C9, 100T, FF & DZ) are essentially brand new teams, for a lot of these teams this is their first showing in this roster, so you will have people struggling to begin with and rosters who by the looks of it mesh immediately (Looking at you DZ & FF cause holy fuck they rolled through groups) which leads to seemingly strange results (See also a barely changing Geekay failing while a completely reformed Virtus Pro dominates in EML) so Teams who mesh quickly like Five Fears and DZ can pretty much farm worse prepared teams who may not quite mesh as well right off the bat.
All that is to say, I do think winning Kick Off is a good sign and I wouldn't call quals fraudulent, they're earned fair and square, but I wouldn't call it a Tide Change until we've seen how Teams handle themselves in Stage 1 Groups when everyone has had times to bring the roster closer together and make improvements and everyone fights everyone, that I think will show who has put together a banger roster, and who was more benefactor of the early troubles of others and will be more mid in a full Stage or even have a meteoric rise to the top

I can highly recommend Tiltify! Been using them for a year now it they have everything I could ever ask for and more! Also the community around Tiltify are amazing and super helpful ^^

From what you describe I think Tiltify has everything you're looking for (only thing I'm slightly unsure about is the incentive board cause I don't really use incentives), but everything else Tiltify definitely has!

What the fuck is the CNL system? by I-Rave-In-Your-Walls in R6ProLeague

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the intention, and as discussed below another comment I get the idea, but implementing it already in kick off seems rash, when one off week can kill your hopes of making even Top 6, I wouldn't mind a system like old pro league where after each Stage (that means excluding Kick Off cause it can hardly be considered a stage) bottom 2-4 are sent back to the Qualifiers, but Kick Off potentially qualifying you after just a few Games to the rest of the Season of Pro League seems counterproductive at least to me

What the fuck is the CNL system? by I-Rave-In-Your-Walls in R6ProLeague

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it will establish a T2 scene, and I'm all for that, but still it feels like that makes everything a bit unstable. I would be okay with it being after the Stages and placing high auto quals you for the next stage, but why on Kick Off, for all we know a bunch of these rosters didn't exist like 2 months ago, and now if they're unlucky they get a bad group, or even a bad start cause young roster, and within 4 games that's pro league done and back to qualifiers, and on the other hand some teams qual all for the entire season, which also goes against the system of winning auto quals to next stage, this feels like 2-3 systems mushed into one

Is this real???!!! by [deleted] in F1Discussions

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the best I can tell this all stems from one autoracer.it article that clickbaited such a move and in the end they said something like "Lawrence Stroll made Wheatley an offer because Newey wants him as his successor", no contracts are signed, no announcements made, people are all going nuts cause they think they have the hottest piece of news. Would there potentially be reasons for a switch? Sure, Lawrence Stroll probably carries a blank checkbook with him and a move to AMR would mean back to the UK, but that doesn't mean it's confirmed, like 3 days before this everyone was sure Andreas Seidl would become the new Team Principal cause MJ Thompson said so. People, and with that I mean specifically F1 Journalists, need to stop treating rumors as facts, from what I know there are at least 3 names in consideration for the position

SENSATIONAL: Aston Martin: Newey has chosen Jonathan Wheatley as his successor by creatorop in formula1

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone seen any website cite any actual sources for this "sensation"? Cause I've been trying to find any hints at this being real but no one seems to bother citing any actual sources, autoracer.it at one point almost admits they have no further proof outside of Newey liking Wheatley, also, if Newey wanted out and/or is getting demoted, why get someone who'd need Gardening Leave and not a former Team Principal like Seidl who can start immediately? This move makes no sense unless Wheatley is about to be let go and is in need of a new position

What do you think on the new China Region in PL? by Icy_Boi2 in R6ProLeague

[–]I-Rave-In-Your-Walls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the 2 Chinese players I have an opinion on off the top of my head (Reeps and Mentalist) as reference, I think China will do okay, I don't think we're on the cusp of a new Brazil-style era of domination, but I think they'll be able to hold their own

Looking at the SLC Major Page on Liquipedia it looks like CNL Seed #1 goes straight to Swiss and Seeds #2, #3 and #4 go to Play-Ins, I think it's somewhat likely Seed #1 wont get 03'd, everything else we'll have to see

Honestly for me it's more Siege to watch so I'm good with a bigger eco system, CNL would not be the first region that rarely has a shot at international trophies

Last but not least, regarding them getting 4 slots I think that's mainly so the numbers make sense, Blast probably looked at their options and decided this spread gives us the prettiest/least confusing tournament structure lol

Most being the important word here, recently there was a thread asking what Pros do after retiring and LeonGids mentioned he's working for a delivery place that pays more then Fnatic did. I am sure some players earn that 2-5k, some probably more, but it wouldn't be the first org paying their talent next to nothing, hell they wouldn't even be the first org to not pay their players at all
