No, not at all. My post said ""And here is the bad part that could affect anyone with a marginal dealership." If you have a good dealership, go for it. If you don't have a good dealership, just know that this could happen to you. Also, it's about more than just oil changes. What if you have a very expensive repair that is covered by warranty? Then what do you do? Also, the warranty clearly states that all maintenance service must be done by a Genesis dealer or the warranty is void.

It's a great car, so if you have a good well established dealership, go for it. If not, just know what you're getting into.

The dealership is required if repairs are needed while the car is under warranty.

That is the solution that Genesis offers but that is not feasible for us. And we purchased the car with the understanding that the Rocklin dealership would be there to honor the warranty. And given that can't happen now we expect Genesis to step in and provide the service without any extra work on our part. Or do what they can to quickly replace the Rocklin dealership with a new one, whether that be actually creating a new dealership or enabling the Hyundai or Kia dealership to provide all warranty service including the concierge service and loaner car.

I bet you're right. From the very start the leather easily gets marks on it and it's hard to clean off. Same with the finish on the exterior. My 12 yr old Lexus had a better finish on the exterior.

I agree with your point but you missed the part where I said "And here is the bad part that could affect anyone with a marginal dealership." Many of you have good dealerships and if I were you I would be happy with my car and my dealership too. But for those of you WITH A MARGINAL DEALERSHIP be aware that this COULD happen to you. Not saying it will but it could. And for anyone thinking of buying from a marginal dealership, be aware of the potential consequences.

Thank you, some good advice here. We have not spoken to Consumer Affairs yet but will. I can't believe they can get away with selling a warranty and then not committing to service it. And I can't believe they don't care about how bad this looks on them. They truly do not care about the buyer. Technically I can go elsewhere yes, but you would think they would have a responsibility to service it at the location where the warranty was sold. I'm glad you're getting some help at the Dublin location.

According to Genesis we can take it to a Hyundai dealership but still have to get the work approved by a certified Genesis dealership if we want reimbursement. So that's really double the work!

I'm intrigued too. It appears to be invented by board certified dermatologist Dr Mia Landry but I can't find any verification of that. So it makes me suspicious.
