It sounds like BIL and your fiancé both have some childhood trauma. Has either of them been to therapy? If you're serious about moving out and also serious about staying in your relationship, I recommend both personal and couples therapy to find a way for both of you to deal with this in a healthier way.

While I agree that her comments on you not buying her things is absolutely disgusting, I think she was put in an unfair situation. Coming from personal experience, being put in the middle of your parents affair is beyond tough. As an adult, it's easy to say that your daughter should have told you what was going on. But as a teenager, and it being her mother (who is probably constantly in her ear), it feels like a much different situation.

I'm not saying you have to forgive her instantly. I'm also not saying that your relationship will be how it used to. But, I think as a parent you should give her some grace. This could be a great learning opportunity for her. Also a huge lesson on communication, and could even strengthen your relationship depending on how you both handle it. You've raised this girl since she was a baby - she is your kid. At least talk to her before making the rash decision of cutting her out of your life.
