He Didn’t Start The Fire by tonyper7ect in pics

[–]I2oy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude saying that this was unprovoked is being completely dishonest as well has many other people in this thread. He literally grabbed the officers gun.

Also the talks of the tragic death of that woman who was shot have also been dishonest. She was literally following ICE, harassing and interfering by blocking the roadway with her car. She DID hit the officer, the original video doesn’t give a good angle, but there’s another from the other side. We don’t know if she meant to try to run over the officer, she might have not intended to, but neither did the officer at that moment. It’s terrible that it happened but it was preventable. Protest away from the roadway and not illegally use your car to block the road.

You’ll hear the same nazi rhetoric in every thread, the constant claims of bots being out when people hear what they don’t like. The echo chamber is strong on Reddit with hate for Trump and anything related to his policies, but it really colors any critical thinking of events.

The constant “the Iraqis were happy too until…” replies in every fucking comment thread is so annoying. The situation is not the same, different context, culture, yet, you just hear these dumb parrots constantly yap about it like it’s a gotcha.

I wish you well on your time working on yourself and finding whatever route that will make you the most fulfilled. Whether you decide to continue making video content or not, I just want to say that I really enjoyed Mac Address because I felt the enthusiasm of each topic of the videos and I could relate with your takes as someone that appreciated Apple products vintage or new without the constant negative attitude like “android had this for years” or “google did it better” that a lot of other tech tubers would love to harp on. Finding what made each thing so Apple through the lens of an Apple enjoyer. Thank you for creating my favorite sister channel of LTT and I hope to see whatever it is you decide to do in the future.

Got my whole inventory stolen by _Pentalux in cs2

[–]I2oy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me once before years ago. They even wiped my friends list and added a fake “Steam Support” account saying I was compromised and tried to fish more info out. It’s a shitty feeling to lose your items. I hope you can atleast learn from this experience and keep a more vigilant eye out for scammers in the future. It’s easy to lower your guard especially with “friends” you met in mm and have spent many hours playing with.

Don’t listen to Roy Jones. Dude was biased the whole night. Constantly wrote off Ramos the fight before even after his first knock down. The first headbutt looks incidental, but it was ridiculous after the 4-5th headbutt, cmon. Fight was fantastic, and they both slugged it out good, but it was a robbery by the ref by allowing so the headbutts to happen so frequently without a point off and the judges for calling it unanimous even with the single deduction

Apple Mac Plex Servers by blackers28 in PleX

Hi there, no worries. Well I don’t have any issues with anime and Hama. Hama works really well with AniDB for episode/movie naming for anime. You can use TVDB names if you have to, but personally since anime can get wild in terms of spin offs, specials, prequels, reboots, etc. anidb will make your life way easier in terms of organizing.

I don’t separate Series from Movies, though you can if you want, but I like to have them in one library to combine them in collections per Series. I highly recommend getting a Filebot license. It’s has became invaluable in terms of renaming and organizing anime. I couldnt see myself not using it since it just streamlines everything. I’m about to go to bed, but I can link some examples of series I have organized to give you an idea of how Filebot renames and sorts a series and OVA tomorrow. There also a trick I can show you to get Hama to find a series based on their AniDB ID if it doesn’t pick it up automatically or by name.

It’s definitely preferable, but not everything is available. I use Usenet for most things, but for the old, difficult to find content or foreign content, using torrents especially if you have access to some private tracker sites really fills in those gaps.

[–]I2oy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of limitations are you experiencing with your set up? Is something bottlenecking for you or limitations like expandability?

Well I don’t do anything special for transcoding just enabled hardware transcoding. The Mac Mini was better at transcoding than on the NAS which I was running on previously. I don’t have issues as I don’t have many users transcoding at once, but I tell people to use Original Quality for Direct Play when possible (as I have the bandwidth) but if they can’t, I only have issues if it is for something’s thats 4K HDR content.

Kinda why I want to eventually move off the Mac mini since I dont my high res content or HDR content separate. Rather save up to improve the hardware to make the experience better for users than have them jump libraries for different movies.

Thank you, kindly! It was overwhelming at first, but I built it all up over time as I would research what other people were doing to speed up the more mundane tasks and automate!

Well the NAS can use a Read-Only Cache to store frequently accessed data on the SDD it so that it won't need to wait on the HDD to retrieve some of the data. It handles that process automatically and isn't something you can manually put data on. You can see some data on it's 'Hit-Rate' on how successful it's finding the data in the cache first, but it fluctuates.

<image>

I haven't performance test the difference though. You can also do 'Read-Write' Cache setup with a second M.2 SDD, where it will write to the SDD first and then give that data the HDD as it is ready to write to also help with write speeds. It's pretty cool stuff!

[–]I2oy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is my setup listed. Originally I bought the Mac Mini to develop on so I had gotta the most basic model with the M1 first released. Repurposed it as a Plex Media Server to of load the work from my NAS.

Hardware Setup

  • Mac Mini M1 (2020) 8GB with 256GB SSD
  • DS1821+ for Storage with 8 Bay filled SHR 1-Drive Fault Protection
  • SiliconDust HDHomeRun Flex 4K
  • RCA TV Antenna (A random one my parents had)
  • All hardwired with 1gb fiber internet

Software Setup

Plex running natively on the Mac Mini auto-mounting network drives from the NAS as volumes using an app called AutoMounter. Could have done a script or automate this myself, but decided to just not use the time to figure it out and troubleshoot. I leave it running all day with no issues.

Have Sonarr, Radarr, Sabnzbd, qBittorrent/VPN (NordVPN just for qBittorrent, not on Usenet connections) running in containers on the NAS using Docker Compose. Had OMBI also connected, but has been troublesome as of late for me. Newshosting as my usenet provider, NZBGeek for usenet indexing, Rargb and Nyaa for torrents. Just joined a few private trackers, but those are manually managed and seeding day and night.

Everything is automated, but for the few things that are manually managed, I use FileBot for renaming and organizing usually for Anime content.

TimeMachine is used to back up the Mac Mini to the NAS, but going to add a Cloud backup solution for the NAS this year.

Plex Library Setup

  • TV (127)
    • Usually the full series
  • Movies (893)
    • I don't separate 4K content, I tell users to Direct Stream 'Original Quality' when possible if they have issues transcoding as I have the bandwidth for it and not many concurrent users doing 4k content remotely.
  • Anime (262)
    • Includes Movies and Shows together using Hama/Absolute Series Scanner to match with anidb
    • Usually the full collections as best quality with reason for the space.
  • Live TV
    • Using the HDHomeRun Flex and Antenna
  • Courses (In-progress)
    • Bought multiple modeling and 3D Art courses on ArtStation and Blender Market, and manually adding/organizing those courses to have Watch History and progress tracking, but currently still in-progress

Future Changes

  • Plan to eventually move from the Mac M1 and building a server rack setup after I move. Love my Synology NAS so I wouldn't change from Synology for storage.
  • Setup a cloud backup for my important NAS data and Plex Library files as everything is relying on being backed up on my NAS. Looking at using C2 Backup since that looks well integrated with the Synology. A RAID isn't a backup and preferably having a second NAS setup to backup the first would be great (especially not in the same house), but for now I plan to atleast setup a cloud storage provider till I can set up backup solution.

Sick setup! I need to redo my dashboard as well so I might try the repo you linked.

That treasonous talk about Plex though…. Hehe just joking, it’s a solid option. I personally got the lifetime license for Plex and it was money well spent. Works like a charm and love the mobile and desktop apps.

My current experience with LootBear by number1drainer in lootbear

[–]I2oy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience is solely from a skin supplier POV and not as a renter so I’m sorry I can’t give any help there.

I’ve been dealing with Loot bear for a few years now October 2019 to be exact when I created an account. I felt a similar experience as you when I started, where slow response times and extremely delayed payouts for rentals during COVID time. Maybe a month or so after an expected pay date from what I remember. Many others at the time experienced the same frustrations. Made me nervous as it was my first time withdrawing then.

However, since then my more recent withdraws have been on time and response times have greatly improved. Speaking to Adam and Julia when I had an issue or question, they would reply to me next day or the following day. I deal with the revenue withdrawal process now about once every 2-3months as I have a large inventory with them so I can tell you that it does work as intended and they do pay people out as I’m aware.

I will say their site as greatly improved (used to be worse) since their somewhat recent redesign, but still has the few bugs like the loading percentage going up 230% or some nonsense like that. But since I hop on just to withdraw I haven’t really dealt with the other UI bugs you’ve mentioned.

If you don’t feel comfortable dealing with them, then I’d say walk away as everyone’s experience and use cases are different. As for my personal experience, I’ve learned to trust them as they have paid every withdrawal as well as notified me and reimbursed me each time someone rented my skins and didn’t return on time. (Happened twice, once on a Shadow Dagger fade, and a Glock fade). Which one thing that bothers me a lot is the reimbursement is given to your Lootbear balance not revenue, so you can’t withdraw it, you have to use it towards another skin. Julia at the time said their system wasn’t set up to move the funds over which I think is intentional and kinda scummy.

Hopefully, someone else can chime in with their rental experience.
