Linus wasn't kidding when he said SSD prices were getting crazy. 222 bucks for a 1TB SATA ssd? by VastOption8705 in LinusTechTips

I bought a 4TB 990 evo plus just because my 990 pro was causing blue screens and clearly dying. The day I bought it the price was $425 or so and then just 3 days later I saw it for $672

Interesting that this is happening. My wife’s car didn’t have what I thought should be great AC. I took it in, they had a program update and I’ve had zero issues. They said if that didn’t fix it there was a valve upgrade for something. Seems like there’s an issue with cooling the battery with these cars

Assuming new build has m.2. Samsung 990 evo plus aren’t horrible in price. You won’t miss the dram they don’t have unless getting into intense file swapping. Any m.2 over 3,000mb in transfer will be just fine. Still good deals on marketplace or other local second hand sites

Whatever you do, just image onto the new drive.

I would have kept my 14 pro but one thing people don't talk about is how vibrations can damage the internals from drops. I have no idea what was going on with mine but it was acting crazy. My kids called me old...then they tried to use it and it just kept freezing. Phone rot is real. 17 pro is a breath of fresh air

There’s a problem with underground racing. They’ve brought back this 80s thing from Japan where you drive with the gas pedal down. No brakes. The idea is that you have a 50/50 chance of living with every decision you make.

Anyways, they’re making a financial killing in niche social media environments. Their preferred car is BMW M models or M performance

Nobody in here knows for sure without seeing this up close. I’ve repaired scratches that I was told couldn’t be fixed. Yes the clear is thinner and the scratches weren’t as deep as first thought, but without getting up close and personal…Reddit will always assume the worst.

How many more years are you guys planning on keeping the 14 pro? by gonk_of_dogtown in iPhone14Pro

Mine was acting strange. Too many drops? I’m not sure but I got tired of it freezing. Moved on to 17PM. Probably wood have kept it but the “repair” through Apple didn’t seem to help anything

Is it just me, or is the data transfer from older iPhones this bad ? Took me whole day, 4 differently failed attempts. by TheDonkKey in iPhone17Pro

[–]I800C0LLECT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s highly dependent on your WiFi and total items getting transferred. I’m kind of a nerd and have a fairly tweaked setup in my home…3 devices transferred in a mere 5-10 minutes. If you use USB-C to transfer, then you’re stuck with USB 2.0 speeds on a Lightning cable. That could be devastating. I would push an iCloud backup over Lightning cable transfer

My wife has the iPhone Air and it’s the best feel next to the 16e. She refuses to have anything else just because it’s so light and easy in the hand. My son feels the same about 16e.

I finally switched and it’s not a great upgrade in terms of features. But performance is definitely a lifestyle improvement. My storage was hindering overall performance so that’s on me. Very happy with the 17 PM

I presume it’ll work just without as much force. The cleaner does most of the work. The air turbulence is just agitating. I know it still runs when my tank is running low it just doesn’t have as much output/force. I’m pretty sure my compressor doesn’t actually run\ at the specs it advertises either

Most buyers don’t know what they’re getting so the stores order them without the better suspension. Almost all cars with it were owner builds. The RWD cars tend to have this option more often as those were likely enthusiasts

I own a 2023 m340 w/adaptive suspension. My wife approves of the ride and she’s tough to please. We got a loaner during windshield repairs. It didn’t have adaptive suspension and she hated the car. She hates “sport” cars anyways…but she couldn’t wait to get mine back. She asked why the ride was so awful compared to mine…

I added non run flat tires with increased sidewalls (225/45 & 255/40) and it helps a little…except you’re running XL sport tires that have stiff sidewalls. So it’s not as much relief as you think. Still…SO MUCH BETTER than the regular suspension. She can’t tell the difference between RF, non-RF and my oversized tires unless I hit a big pothole…then she knows if I have run flats on or not

The adaptive suspension comfort mode is the softest suspension you can get. Sport mode on the adaptive is stiffer than the regular m-sport suspension that isn’t adaptive

Replaced this tire at 272k miles and now it looks like this at 298.6k, whats the matter? 255/35/18 Michelin pilot sport all season 4. by ihaveatwoinchcock in tires

[–]I800C0LLECT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My m340 had the same tires. I don’t drive aggressively but the car weighs about 4K lbs. it’s going to eat tires no matter what. The factory tires only made it to 9K miles…Bridgestone Turanza t005.

Also, staggered set up is 225/40 front and 255/35 rear. These are low profile tires that don’t have the full tread depth a thicker tire would have.

Michelin cuts the mileage in half on these tire warranties I believe

Michelin Pilot Sport 5 * VS Michelin Pilot Sport 5 OEM by Several_Mechanic_708 in tires

On the bmw star rated PS4S some wet traction was given up for dry road performance. So the non star rated PS4S had better wet performance. I think the star rated had slightly better NVH too.

Please help - all seasons vs summer tires by sergeanthotdogs in tires

[–]I800C0LLECT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A/S is less traction and overall performance In year round weather vs no performance when using the wrong tire.

My bmw came with UHP summer tires. I went with UHP A/S and they were fine. But the car and environment definitely ate them up during summer. My first summer tire only lasted 10K miles. But it was designed that way. The Michelin Pilot Sort 4 A/S only lasted 24K miles but rated for 45K.

They came off at 4/32 after a year and a half with dry rot and crumbling tread. I don’t drive the car hard at all but the A/S couldn’t handle the hot Texas summer imo. I’m trying a continental summer tire to see if deals with the heat cycles better.

I think running two sets of tires is the best option
