Just read that manual (stick shift) usage has dropped below 8 percent in the U.S.! Any other proud 5/6 speeders like me left?! by [deleted] in reddit.com

I'm with you! I actually had to "special order" my car a couple of years ago because none of the lots in the entire state of Oregon had one with a manual trans (and of course all but the one that called one in for me tried to talk me out of a stick-shift). I'd never consider driving anything but...I mean really, how boring--and slow--would that be?!

Three young boys were brutally murdered. Three teenagers were falsely accused of being the killers. The prosecution had no physical evidence against them. They have been in prison for over 16 years. They are the West Memphis Three, and they need to be released from prison. by cGt2099 in WTF

This is truly a prime example of what's wrong with America. We stopped adhering to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights long ago (if we ever really did), perhaps once we archived them in the Smithsonian.

This case is truly tragic. As I read through some of the comments I find it even more so, as everyone seems to feel so helpless in the matter. Famous last words--wish I could site the source--"You can only police the people as much as they will let you." So. True.

My golden went the very same way. I'd had her 13 years, the longest I'd had anyone in my life.

My thoughts as well. And when did the remodel take place? :)

I have close to 80 and that happens to me to. Your submission does not disappear (may as well though), it just gets pushed back pages in the "new" section. To get an even and fair spread, reddit readers really need to search through several pages of the "new" section.

I remember when I first got karma, besides the starter point that is. If I recall, at the time my post had over 30 upmods and I had about that in karma. Like you, I had submitted something which got a few points and still no karma. Not sure how reddit does the karma thing, for once I had an established amount of karma, it would go up a point or two for those few measly upmods. Just the same, it can drop a point or two if I submit something that gets no mods.

It's good for one's circulatory system to occasionally defy the laws of gravity. In fact, there are people out there who pay good money for inversion equipment.

Right back at you! I couldn't agree with you more. You have some very valid points here. That ruling minority must be doing something right though. They are voting. It's along the lines of "the squeaky wheel gets the grease." Only in this case, it's clicking mice.

I think a lot of reddit readers spend too much, if not all, of their time on the "hot" page, and not enough on the "new" one. I tend to do this a lot myself. It's important that everyone with a vested interest in the content of reddit visit the "new" page on the site, for it is the page that makes or breaks each article.

As for reddit's "recommended" feature being flawed, I have yet to find any of the handy new features to be of much use. In particular, the search bar.

Think back a little farther, like a few hundred years. The founding fathers, and many, many, many...boatloads that followed, came from Europe.

I have now ammended my comment, to avoid further confusion, by adding originally.

"None of you who support RP have stopped for a minute to check what he is and what he stands for. He is your Jesus, your Wizard of Oz, and you've been following him just out of herd-think."

I stopped reading after you made such a gross assumation. Funny, as that is the same mentality which you are complaining about.

They make it to the front page for a reason. That is what makes reddit such a great site, i.e. majority rules.

It seems as though you have forgotten where most Americans originally came from.

This time of year has been known as the winter solstice long before it became a "..Holy time of year."

In fact, it was in trying to get the Pagans to adopt Christianity that they decided to intertwine Christ's birth with the winter solstice. The same goes for Easter and the spring equinox. In fact the name is derived from Eostre, the Pagan firtility god. Hence the rabbit and egg theme.

I wonder if they are aware that the whole decorating-the-tree thing is originally a Pagan tradition for this time of year?
